Mike Brown Accepts Cleveland Offer

Postby Anthony15 on Tue May 31, 2005 11:19 am

CLEVELAND -- Indiana Pacers assistant coach Mike Brown was offered and accepted Cleveland's head coaching job on Monday.Brown is expected to be introduced as Cleveland's coach in the next few days, sources told The Associated Press. The hiring of Mike Brown could enhance the likelihood that Larry Brown would accept the post as the Cavs' president. Mike Brown was an assistant for three seasons under Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who is a friend of Larry Brown's, the New York Times reported Monday.

I think that the Cavs will make the Playoffs next year, since they signed Mike Brown today...and Larry might become the Cavs President...

Can you say that by fact or just by opinion? I don't consider Mike Brown that good and I can't believe the Cavs couldn't get anybody better.

What makes you think hes not good? I think you're only basing that on his name, and you don't really know anything about him. He was a bigger part then many think in the Spurs championship in 03, he kept Stephen Jackson under control enough in order to get them there. hes a guy who is a players coach and really relates to them. He does a great job firing guys up. Plus he is an amazing defensive stratagist.

On a serious note, if you compared him to when he was first hired, to how he looks now, he has aged considerably. I guess all the stress got to him.
