duncan free throws

Sun May 29, 2005 1:48 pm

33-36 at the line so far vs. the Suns. (15-15 in game 3)

whats going on here??
He is shooting over 91% from the line in this series and for the season he shot 67% for the season ( 59% previous year)

Can you imagine Shaq improving his free throws out of the blue?? All you would have to do is give the ball to shaq all game..

hey, watch Tim and see if he is on his heels or toes when he shoots them. I continue to watch them when the camera allows, and he hits more when he gets on his toes and misses them when he is on his heels. Someone must have brought that to his attention but hey he shot 80% back in 2002.

he might be wearing his shorts backwards like what fratello is saying in live :P

He gave a great answer to Jim Gray's question about his free throw shooting after Game 3.

Gray: You're hitting your free throws, you were 15/15 tonight. What's different?
Duncan: They're going in.

 Clever. I can just see Tim Duncan making that joke with a completely straight face.

Actually, he grinned and chuckled a bit with Jim Gray afterwards. I think Duncan just has a really good poker face. It does make for some good jokes though - I recall the quick bit SLAM did back in his rookie year, "The Many Emotions of Tim Duncan". Essentially the same expressionless photo, six or seven in a row, each labelled with a different emotion including "Happy", "Sad", "Sexy", "Angry" and "Perturbed".

i do dont like his acting in the trophy comercial where he was screaming "LALALALALLA"
but duncan eversince has a good form, i think he was right that the only difference was they are going in now

That's a good thing cuz you don't wanna let the other people know you're frustrated. Orelse they gonna frustrate you even more, make you into foul troubles and even technical foul.

rofl i have the same problem when i play basketball....
i show my frustration (screaming at the umpires, kicking the sub bench, throwing my headband at the coach)
so other people try and get me more frustrated (so i just Own them with a drive) and i get some techs

heh i jumped on some fat kid cos he cried cos he lost a game, so i got a tech.

anyways Duncan is a good leader, good player, we all know he enjoys winning but doesnt always show it. i expect him to dance and prance around when he wins his 3rd championship :chug: :applaud:

You throw your headband at the coach regularly?? :?

Tue May 31, 2005 4:03 am

Holy, I don't even dare to look at my coach the wrong way. I advoid eye contact as much as possible during a game.

Tue May 31, 2005 4:31 am

I'd be benched for the whole game and probably suspended for a game or two if I ever threw a headband at the coach. Have you considered anger management, magadag?

What the hell? Why the hell do you throw your headband at your coach? Not only is that disrespectful, it is also just plain rude. Jesus Christ, you need some help. Stop playing like Rasheed Wallace and learn some discipline.

Tue May 31, 2005 12:42 pm

i'm a jeff van gundy type of coach. if you ever throw a headband at me.......all hell will break lose 8-)

Tue May 31, 2005 1:36 pm

Complete turnaround in Game 4 with Duncan's free throw shooting, a dismal 3/12 including an airball.

Tue May 31, 2005 1:40 pm

Yep, I'm starting to see a lot of airballs lately. I used to never see them (never even THOUGHT of the possibility of it...) then I saw Mourning with one, someone else, and now Tim..

Tue May 31, 2005 2:21 pm

lol spoke too soon about his free throws..

Tue May 31, 2005 2:54 pm

is it the pressure to close out a series? :x

Tue May 31, 2005 3:01 pm

he doesnt want to sit around while the heat and pacers play their series. So he helped suns win so he doesnt get bored.

Tue May 31, 2005 3:03 pm

oh really?
