WOW.....im a hard-core Detroit fan and this Billups inclusion is stifling.....i mean, he aint even better than Lindsey Hunter. Odd choice indeed, but Ben & Prince both deserve their places. I swear when i heard Billups i thought someone was joking.

Shit, I forgot about Iggy. Like Drama said, he was a top-defender this season, and he's only a rookie (Y)

And he did get snubbed. I just don't see how Billups made it. I mean, IMO I wasn't even expecting him to even be on either team.

If it were up to me it would have gone like this:

1st team: Ben Wallace, Tim Duncan, Shawn Marion, Larry Hughes, Kevin Garnett

SPG is not an irrelevant stat. Taking away the ball from the other team for 1 possession reduces them to 0% shooting for that possession, better than any positional defense can offer.

If the award was All NBA Positional Defense team, that would really be too specific. It has to take into account everything together, positional, SPG, BPG, etc.

that's if you make the steal.....if you gamble and lose the opponents chances of scoring increase significantly. Unless of course you make on the ball steals.

I think SPG is a tricky stat, but it isn't irrelevant. Kobe Bryant gets a lot of steals, but he is a VERY overrated defender.

But Larry Hughes, Andrei Kirelenko and Ron Artest get a lot of steals and they are great defenders.
