If Gordon is given to play starting, he might not be playing as good as playin as reserve like now.
He may lose all his explosiveness and energy on defense, then not being able to attack as fierce.

He's just like a scoring machine, but not anything else.

He's been like that the whole year, this month has actually not been too bad, but not enough games, so 1 game changes the month stats. Check out January, February was probably his best month. In March he did okay, only like 1 game under double digits, but he shot very poorly, just took more shots than usual, so his PPG didn't have many big dropoffs.

he's been like what?
the guys comes off the bench and only gets around 25 minutes a game but he still gets his average. and you have to factor in skiles inconsitent playing rotation. if he thinks gordon 'doesn't have it' or pike or griffin is playing well, gordon takes a seat.

...most of the time, the first 3 quarters skiles doesn't really run plays for him so it's difficult for him to get in a rhythm. then all of sudden come the 4th qtr, he becomes the main option.

anyway i think now that gordon is receiving nationwide attention, he's under the microscope...

the ROY is a 3way race now...

He's been somewhat inconsistent for most of the year, but not much more than you'd expect from a guard, though his 4th quarter performances have been consistent. It's not a hit against him, it's just how it's been most of the year. I agree it's more of a 3 man race because Howard has really been lighting it up.

Maybe if Antione Walker wasn't on the Hawks, Childress or Smith could be in the mix. Childress has averaged about 15 points and 8 rebounds without Walker, and Smith about 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks or so.
