come to think of it, most of the players being named aren't 'classic' type pf's themselves
.. which isn't a bad thing, the PF/post position is evolving

I'd have to go with Dirk, because he's incredibly versatile for a forward.

Are we talking about PF's?? Or F in general??
If it's only PF's:
Dirk, Amare, JO and Brand.
In general:
Shawn Marion, Dirk, Amare, etc...oh, and put Kirilenko somewhere, when he's not injured :P

Troy Murphy!!! Just kidding...

I agree: Amare - Dirk - JO - Brand - Pau - CWebb - Jamison (heavy SF or light PF)

Second Tier: Toine - Okafor (he's half forward, half center) - Sheed - Randolph (too short to be a true C) - Bosh - Boozer

Yup, you're right, Dirk isn't a inside guy, Webber has become a jumpshooter, and KG, well he actually posts up a fair amount. Marion is a first option SF though, he still get's beat defensively because of the mis-match, but he tries, just so athletic, and he beats other PF's on the other end too.

true but he owns Chris Bosh!

Don't worry, Bosh is just waiting for his time, since the Carter trade, and the Raptors getting rest and going back home, he's averaged 19.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.95 steals, 48% FG, 8.7 FT attempts, 75% FT, and 1.6 blocks.

Next year he should average something like 19-20 points, 9-10 rebounds, 2 assists, 48% FG, and maybe 1.5 blocks. Don't know if he'll ever had defense like a Duncan, Brand etc, but he'll be average.

Also Rasheed Wallace is below all these guys :P , yea he can play defense, but all his time as the Blazers first option, he never averaged 20 PPG, let alone over 8 RPG.

Amare would be on there (prolly even higher) but I don't know if he is a PF or C.

I'd take Bosh over most PFs anyday. Bosh>Martin,Bosh>...um...Boozer, Bosh>Randolph.

The list goes on.

the only knock I have on JO is that he shoots such a low fg% for a PF but that doesn't really undermine the fact that he's a great low post threat.

having said that however i think i would take dirk over him

This maybe be an unpopular decision right here, but when A Walker plays to his strengths (less 3's, more posting, hustles and plays D) i believe he's a top 5 PF...unfortuantely he has very few games like this and just coasts on his talent.

Don't hate Sheed! :D He's never wanted to be THE guy, but he can still take over games (vs Boston in OT)

After Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan, the following forwards of today's generation are on my top list:
Jermaine O'Neal
Dirk Nowitzki

Amare Stoudemire (Although he also plays center)
Shawn Marion
Chris Bosh
Pau Gasol
Elton Brand
Carlos Boozer
Chris Webber
Rasheed Wallace

And the list goes on...

Considering that Amare has played almost the whole season at center:

Dirk Nowitzki
Jermaine O'neal
Elton Brand
Shawn Marion

I think Brand could be a much better player for some teams out of Clipperland...

Dirk Nowitzki has joined the group of elite power forwards in my opinion and has formed a holy trinity with Duncan, Garnett and now Dirk.

Behind Dirk, I'd put Elton Brand, Jermaine O'Neal, Amare Stoudemire and Chris Bosh.
