Does your friend get the huge contracts like your friend Carter?

I fail to understand what the problem is. You're fully aware of his confession, great. You keep saying that, well everybody only started to jump on the bandwagon once the Raptors started losing. Well, hey, maybe it was because of his increasingly relaxed attitude that led to those losses. I'l agree that he occasionally carried a smile on his face early in his career. But this season was ridiculous... his team would be losing with less than a minute, and he'll be sitting on the bench laughing and smiling. It was almost as if he was happy that the Raptors were losing, as if he was getting satisfaction from it. In my opinion, the fact that he was not taking the game seriously on the court and his confession that he did not try hard enough go hand in hand. They are one and the same.

Anyways, I'm done with this discussion... I've lost a lot of respect for Vince, and obviously this is something I cannot impose on somebody else. Not everyone will share my dislike for Carter, but hey, to each their own and I'm fine with that.

lol i think u mixed me up wit fgrep. im the 1 who said im startin to like carter i started this thread.

and i dont see whats wrong with smiling on the court. as som1 said, bball is a sport. a sport is supposed to be fun. i see even the most boring players smiling, such as tim duncan. ok he wins but so what? ive seen him smile wen his team is losing too.

u seem to think that if a team is losing and a guy is smiling that connects wit not trying and wanting to lose. i completely disagree. wen i watch carter on the court now wit the nets he always has his game face on and is workin his ass off and is lookin to improve his team and get the W. stop looking into the past at the raptors, look at him now.

first of all i started this thread abotu chris anderson and the hornets and in the end i said i respect carter for giving advice to J.R. now this thread is about how u hav no respect for carter because he never tries.... think about it

In my opinion, the fact that he was not taking the game seriously on the court and his confession that he did not try hard enough go hand in hand. They are one and the same.

i disagree 110% with that entire statement. so there u go thats the argument. its really up to our own opinion but u shouldnt feel that u need to "convert" us to the dark side :P

i think the only exception in the nba is kevin garnett. i have never seen him smile wen on the hardwood. on the other hand he also has (possibly) the best work ethic in the nba, and the most willpower. so yea i DO agree wit u in that carter could hav been less of a pussy and less of a whiner. BUT i disagree that smiling on the court wen ur losing means that u wanna lose and dont care about the game. the guy cares about the game

Why do you disagree? Carter admitted that he didn't try as hard with the Raptors as he could've. I lost a lot of respect for him when he said that, because that really hurt the team (and his trade value, which hurt the team even more). KG's team is losing a lot of games, and their morale is probably low, and you still see KG trying hard. That's what Carter should've done.

i disagree because u cant ask every1 to be a KG. there is only 1 KG. i disagree that the fact that he wasnt tryin as hard as he could meant that he didnt take the game of basketball seriously. thats not true
