But it's not like you couldn't see it coming. I mean the Grizzlies (on paper) are a fairly talented team with last years ROY, plus this years early leader for this years ROY, add in Battier, JayDub, Stromile Swift, Lorenzen Wright, and you would think they would at least be able to beat Denver or Golden State.

It will be interesting to see if Hubie Brown can get the Grizzlies some wins on the board.

well in most cases, when a talented team goees 0-8 you blame the coach, not the players...coach didn't want to take responsability, so he wuit...it's great to see them hire a new coach that fast, but the 10 mill 3 year contract kind of surprises me...ohh well...lets hope that this coach gives shane more mins, yet bases his offence around the Fs and not the Gs...

True the Grizz have talent, but I'm not too sure how high Jerry West's expectations are. He needs to be realistic. Was an 0-8 start unacceptable? Yes, for any team it is. Was it the right time to fire Sid Lowe? I can't say I agree with that. This team is young, and might be a sign that West isn't too loyal and ready to stick by his personell. I can't see much good by firing him this early. Could this cause chemistry problems? Definately, especially if the players were familar and liked Lowe's style...

Lowe was not fired, he resigned. Jerry West said through ESPN that he wasn't even considering firing Lowe. After 3 year of losing, can blame Lowe for quitting.

I'm glad Lowe left, with the talent on that team there is no way they should be winless after 8 games. Maybe now they have a new coach they'll start playing some more inspired ball.

The Grizz are a very talented team but they are also a very young team. The only reason for the bad start is their inexperience. They are going to be a good team in the next few years, but they need to mature and learn to play as a team. Gasol is only a year or two away from Nowitzki status, Battier is going to be the league's best defender, Stro is going to be a solid post player who can rebound and run the floor. They just need to tweak the team a little. They need to get Williams out of town in favor of someone who can throw a chest pass. Dickerson needs to start showing something or he could be shipped for someone less one dimensional. They nee to add a couple of solid veterans to lead the team and one more big man.

Has Hubie Brown has lost his mind? Why would he put himself through this after 15 years of being out of coaching? Does he think these young cats are going to listen to his rants and raves, especially J-Williams? Hubie's abrasive style may have worked years ago with the Hawks & my Knicks, but I with don't see its working with today's players.
