dont be pissed at him, be pissed at carter for forceing the trade. the guy was fakeing injuries and playing half assed to force toronto to move him

I agree with both. Babcock should've moved Carter before the beginning of the season, because Carter was playing like garbage and his value really, really diminished. That's why we got a sack of potatoes because Carter was a sack of potatoes before he, by some miracle, started playing well again.

The only benefit from the trade is that Bosh is able to grow faster, and same with Araujo and the rest of the team. Carter was a cancer, but unfortunately, we weren't able to get anything good out of him. It'd be so much easier to get Atlanta's first round draft pick for Carter or something :) but that wouldn't have happened anyway.

i definitely agree watching your fav team trade away it's best players for virtually nothing is a tough pill to swallow. i've seen it happen in chicago the past 6 years

i was surprised to see donyell wasn't traded. perhaps babcock should have softened his stance (sorry no pun intended) on making teams take on rose's contract too if the team wanted donyell.

he seems like he's a lame duck sort of like 'reef in portland. in fact, both teams should have made a trade. i don't want to turn this into a portland thread but since blazer management decided to go with the 'youth movement' why keep players like 'reef around?

anyway, at least the raptors got that bosh guy to build around :)

I agree with both. Babcock should've moved Carter before the beginning of the season, because Carter was playing like garbage and his value really, really diminished. That's why we got a sack of potatoes because Carter was a sack of potatoes before he, by some miracle, started playing well again.

That's hindsight though because as a GM, and even as fans, after Carter averaged 22 PPG and was 8th in the league in scoring on the worst offensive team in who knows how long, and the team is now going to start running more, you'd expect him to build on those numbers. In the last 2 months of last season, he averaged 25.5 points | 5.1 rebounds | 4.8 assists | 1.5 steals | 6 FT attempts | 43.1% FG.

Also many expected Bosh to be averaging 17 points and 9 rebounds or so in the beginning of the season as opposed to 13 points and 6 rebounds, Jalen Rose to be playing the way he is now earlier in the year, and some thought Araujo would give immediate impact, not be a 24 year old project. So it's nice to look back and say if we traded him in the summer, we'd have gotten more, but at that time, that didn't look like the best option. It's like saying if we had gotten Dr.J none of this would've happened, which is true, but it's not what happened.

the fact still remains, if a player wants to be traded whatever you get in return is not gonna be enough. once a player comes out and says he wants out of town then teams start offering less and less knowing that the trader is gonna have to just swallow it or deal with a upset player who might pull what carter pulled.
