Western All Star Coach

Postby baller status on Sat Feb 05, 2005 10:22 am

The Eastern All Star had already been determined-Stan Van Gundy... but for the west, it was up to last nights Lakers vs. Spurs game. Coach Popavich is the Western coach for the All Star game after they beat the Lakers last night. More hope for Ginobili making the All Star game?... we'll have to wait and see.

ya... he said that he didnt want to coach out of modesty/wanted time off to rest. the spurs have a long road trip in early feb. with 7 away games. he'll coach though...

No its not upto him to decide. If Malone wasnt allowed to skip the asg in 2000 becuase he didnt want to play, then poppovich has no right to do essentially the same thing.

Well, what can you say. The ASW is a 3-day break for the Stars who're exhausted. Same goes for the coaches.

It's not a break, its an opportunity for the nba to showcase its stars. The weekend isnt an optional event...
