Carlos Arroyo wants a trade

Fri Jan 14, 2005 12:47 pm

Jerry Sloan has Carlos Arroyo sitting on the bench for several weeks now. He's demanding that he either gets traded away or be given back his starting position.

I think the Lakers should try to get him. Maybe a Caron Butler for Carlos Arroyo swap.

definetely (Y)

I'm not sure if i'd trade Butler for Arroyo. Butler has a wealth of talen, and could well blossom into one of the better swingmen in the nba. I think Seattle could have a chance at snatching him, or even houston..

Agreed. Caron is too valuable to trade him straight up for Arroyo. I think the Lakers should definitely have a look at getting him though (Y)

Jazz already have enough Forwards.

They could trade him to Minny. For Cassel, and cap fillers...I don't know, how are the salaries?

somehow this doesn't have quite the same impact as "Vince Carter wants a trade"

Very true, but still...
Arroyo showed the world this summer that he's for real and if Jerry Sloan really thinks McLeod and Lopez are better, well that's his choice, but the Jazz could be getting a nice player in exchange for Arroyo.
If a team that needs a PG badly is interested, Arroyo could also become one of the league's elite pg's I think.

He didn't even play that good in the summer, he did good against US, but his assist numbers were weak he didn't show anything of being a true PG, just of being a scorer. In the other games he didn't even play that great. Sloan doesn't want a scoring PG, he wants a passer. Arroyo isn't going to be an elite PG in the league because he did good in the Olympics.

Lakers dont need to get him so we can stay average and have a chance at getting Andrew Bogut!

lol... jokin, Lakers should look into this as an opportunity to improve. However, I prefer tradingh for Kidd!
