Michael Redd going back to Ohio to join LeBron?

I saw this at ESPN but it was an Insider feature which needs membership to access. Anyone who's a member please post the article here. Thanks.

Not really new news, but yes their's been talks of Redd wanting to go back to Ohio as it's his hometown, but Clevleand also has to resign Z in the off-season, and the money might just not be there.

I dont think Redd's a Roleplay so getting him wouldnt be a wise choice if they really want Bron Bron to reach his max potential and become the ultramegaohmygodyoursick star.

Id leave that cap space and target Larry Hughes....hes more suited to roleplay and he can fill in as a PG even if Mcinnis or Snow go down(which could happen since their old now).

lebron isn't kobe bryant...he loves to pass the ball so it wouldnt be that big of a problem if they got redd

true true, but I dunno I just dont see a Redd-Bron combo doin all too well....Redd is a streak shooter so he has a risk factor involved plus hes not very fast paced.

I dunno I like Redd alot but I think he should consider elsewhere

Im sure tho this comment will be wrong and Redd+Bron will combine to win 10 Championships in a row

if Redd comes to Cleveland, then he should turn his game around to and learn to be 2nd option
then LeBron can do his thang and he will get more assist so then he could average a triple double for a season :cool:

it would be awesome though because lets say LeBron goes for a dunk and gets trap by like 3 defenders in the key, he just tosses out to Redd for the 3 ball and that would work all day, Bron dunking and Redd shooting the 3

Definately is not, and no Hughes is not a good PG, I don't know what gave you the impression he's a player that would just step down, but he loves to launch up shots, and he's playing great defense right now and has been a great 4th quarter performer, but is definately not someone to accept a position as a role player.

I don't think their would be a problem with them together though, but Z would take a hit in shot attempts, and I don't think that's good for the team as playing inside out helps a lot.

I'd love the combination of Bron+Redd. Sounds like a amazing combo. Could be like a MJ and Bird in the same team and they are both young and with so much upside.

But Big O, Hughes/Redd would be a great fit in the SG position as the Cavs shifted James to SF, and Luke Jackson is disappointing right now... Improvising Snow there, or playing with either Harris or Pavlovic won't work in the long term...

Bron + Redd = MJ + Bird

I could loosely agree that LeBron may become as good as MJ, but Michael Redd is definitly no Larry Bird.

I said Redd is fine, he's not a selfish player, and can work without the ball, but Hughes won't take the reduced role so nicely.

i cant really see this happening for money reasons but if this were to actually happen Redd has no problem a) being the second option(he was a sixth man up until last year) and b)yes he can run! the dude played with tj ford last season and he can get up and down the court like any other swingman. cant dunk like tmac or kobe but he can finish no prob. he is a scorer but from what ive seen with the bucks so far he isnt a headcase of any type he could mold himself into another role. as a bucks fan i hope he gets resigned by them! i just hope they have enough cash and a good enough team to keep him around

"Redd shooting his way back to the Buckeye state?

The Akron Beacon Journal's Cavaliers beat writer Brian Windhorst reported that Michael Redd may want to head back to Ohio before becoming a free agent at the end of the season if the Bucks continue to struggle.

His reasoning for Redd's homecoming? To play with Ohio natives Eric Snow and LeBron James.

Redd, like Snow and James, is a native of Ohio. He was born and raised in Columbus and played his college ball for the Buckeyes.

With the Bucks struggling, and the lack of depth currently on the Bucks' bench, this move makes sense.

Who would we ship out?

In a perfect world you would love the Bucks to take Dajuan Wagner and DeSagana Diop.

That ain't happening.

Yeah Wagner has shown signs of being able to score in spurts this year while coming off the bench. However, he's also shown he cannot play defense or drive to his left.

Diop, while a great defender, has absolutely no offensive game.

We would more than likely have to give up one of our forwards or guards to acquire Redd. Luke Jackson, Sasha Pavlovic, Ira Newble and Anderson Varejao could all be trade bait.

The former Buckeye is downright lethal off the dribble and plays stout defense.

Think silky smooth. That's the way Redd plays. He would be a great fit in this starting rotation and provide the Cavs with the outside shooter they've been searching for.

A lot of this is wishful thinking....But it's something to keep in mind as the season rolls along."

in all honesty there is now way the bucks would want any of those players. free agency would be the only way to go for the cavs. if the bucks traded redd it would not be for the likes of anderson varejo or dajuan wagner. hell i wouldnt trade redd for big z,gettin older,could get hurt again. there is no one on redds level on the cavs except for james who is head and shoulders above him. that dude is totally right when talking about wishful thinking.
