ESPN Commentators, are they dead or alive?

Ok now here in the place I live we get to see NBA games only twice a week(fri n sat morning).....
so today they were showing the Pacers vs Kings game(still goin on)...now I normally watch every game even if it features teams I dont like....but holy hell man the ESPN commentators (Tom Tolbert n the other guy, cant remem his name right now) just put me to sleep....I mean their jokes were dry and their tone of voice was like they were recovering from a hangover.

I mean the TNT crew is way way better, Marv is a maestro...he knows how to make any game exciting.

Anybody else watching the Pacers vs Kings game notice this?

I know the Pacers are boring now but still....u gotta do your JOB.

We got the first game in the doubleheader here in Australia (Spurs vs Pistons), Bill Walton and Mike Breen were calling the game; I don't have a problem with them but I too prefer Marv Albert as a broadcaster. That could just be my affinity for the 90s coming through though.

Personally I don't really mind who's commentating the games, because I'm watching the game for basketball, not for the commentating. However, I do prefer commentators who do more basketball analysis of the game rather than making jokes, or that much play by play.

I agree, the game is the main attraction of the broadcast. But commentary is such a huge part of televised sports; Personally, I find it difficult not to scoff a little when a commentator makes a remark or offers analysis that I disagree with.

LOL
Sometimes I turn the sound off and just watch the game and put music on, maybe just listening to the half time analysis' (is there a plural?) by Greg, Tim and Stephen A. It seems that a lot of the time, the commentators worry more about the celebrities in the crowd, and how they use to play the game, more than whats actually happening .
