Very true. There are no enforcers to send a message of "knock that off" these days, and chances are they'd get a worse penalty besides.

To that point, I've seen a few (presumably younger) fans attempting a gotcha, saying "old heads love the Bad Boy Pistons and physicality, but are clutching their pearls over this". I mean, outside of Detroit, those Pistons teams weren't liked. A line has always been drawn when it comes to dirty stuff, and they were criticised for it. So was Bruce Bowen. There was more physicality back in the day and the paint wasn't as wide open with more defenders making an effort without trying to be dirty. That's what we liked. The Bad Boys were criticised, Stockton and Malone were criticised for their holding and elbows, and in the 2000s, Bowen was certainly criticised for pulling dirty plays when he was capable of being an exceptional defender without them.

That's more nuance than people care to worry about when they're looking for a gotcha argument, though.

Yeah I think at least a 3 game suspension would or been the minimum here

Even before the Bad Boy Pistons, the Celtics were known for playing rough. Boston always had "hatchet-men", cats like M.L. Carr, Greg Kite, Tommy Heinsohn, Jim Loscutoff. Remember what Kevin McHale did to Kurt Rambis in the 84 Finals? And if you drove the lane on Dave Cowens & Paul Silas, you took you life in your hands. Folks accused them of being dirty too.

I know one thing...Maurice Lucas would have set Mr. Allen straight. :D

After their edgy little Tweet, the Bucks putting out a classless statement isn't surprising. I get standing by your player, but Allen doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt here. Budenholzer's comments are a joke, too. Guess that title's gone to their heads. Looks like I have a new time to cheer against, regardless of who they're playing. Well, almost. There are a few matchups I might just skip altogether.

I say suit up Dennis Rodman for the next game against the Bucks. We'll see how badass Allen is then. :D

This springs to mind if Rodman went in against Allen...

Saying this having the Joker on your team might be the modern day version, he doesn't take no shit!!

On a side note Markeff Morris has actually missed 30 games now since the joker took him out with a back and neck injury

That's a situation that's kind of flown under the radar.

Yeah I think it has for a lot of people myself included as I admit I don't follow the Heat closely, I don't feel sorry for him as he has a history of hard fouling like he did against the Joker but on the flip side I would never wish injury on anyone

It finally happened - Harden & Paul Milsap to Philly for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and a couple of picks.

Trade tracker so far;

Durant's response to the Harden/Simmons trade was pretty funny in how blunt it is. Accurate, though: everyone got what they wanted.

Embiid or Harden?

Iguodala in black Philly uniforms was a beast. I still remember this dunk and watch it from time to time.

I think Joel over Allen from last night's Cavs vs Sixers game may of given some inspiration

There not, both need the ball. It's like pairing Malone and Marbury together and expecting championship, don't get me wrong the pairing isn't awful either tho as Harden is good at playing the pick and roll game so it's all about spacing and getting shooter to space and that can't just be Danny Green either

I suppose he's going to be giving them more than Simmons has been all year. Harden won't be shy about taking shots in the postseason, either. Of course, whether he makes them at a good clip remains to be seen.

Yeah I agree with Andrew and the Sixers were not getting anything from Simmons so a former MVP is most welcome in Philly, I saw today that the Nets fired shots at Hardens offensive choice stating that he and KD would prefer different play styles, Durant wanting the offense to flow while JH wanted the iso game.

I wonder how that would play ok with Embid, I won't lie iam not a James Harden fan one bit, in Houston, in Brooklyn and even OKC really. For me a player who people call one of the greatest offensive players ever but most of the time I just see an offense killer, 4 games standing around while Harden dribbles the air out the ball.

I see a dude who's unprofessional and quit on two teams. Embiid will get tired of that iso-s*** real quick.

Knicks are playing the Nets right now at MSG. Season's been over for them. It's just about over for the Lakers, unless they can put a string of wins together. They're playing the Jazz at 10pm.

Josh Giddey is averaging 16p/9r/7.5a in the 10 games since SGA got injured. He just had a third straight triple-double, the only rookie apart from Oscar Robertson to ever do so.

My Lord Jeff how disappointing was this loss to the nets?!?!

Harden's talented, but he's playing in an era where stat-padding is facilitated and celebrated. He can get buckets, but one of the great offensive players ever? Fans and pundits definitely overhype him in that regard.
