lol i was about to post this...he isn't too sure if he will do it though, would be interesting if he actually does dunk on shaq

He need to stop worrying about stuff like that before Shaq breaks his back  He needs to worry about his team and not trying to dunk on somebody or it might be the opposite. ***Shaq dunks on Okafor and breaks his back in the process***

Nice to see the kids got some attitude.

Although that might not be the smartest thing to say to a guy who can probably dunk on you twenty times before you even get near the basket.

The last time a rookie made a bold prediction regarding dunking, he won the 1994 Slam Dunk contest. He's (unintentionally) set the bar pretty high for himself, but it will be some highlight if it happens.

He won’t predict what kind of NBA player he’ll be, and he won’t dare set numerical goals that could be used to define his first season. Pressed over and over to list some sort of statistic, he finally explained why he wouldn’t do it.

“I’m going to give you the numbers, and when I don’t get them, here comes the noose,” he said. “So I just want to come in and play hard and go through my growing pains.”

I like that he's confident but won't make too many brash predictions and doesn't seem too egotistical. The dunking on Shaq slip aside, he seems to have his head on straight. (Y)

I really like this guy, like Andrew said he's confident yet smart enough to not make brash comments. Also, the Shaq comment was only to excite the kids nothing big-headed.

So far we will see 2 players dunk on him, Kobe and Emeka.

Thu Oct 07, 2004 1:33 am

...Earl Boykins?

Thu Oct 07, 2004 2:26 am

If Kobe dunks on him, then he isn't going to come down that nice.

Thu Oct 07, 2004 3:17 am

I hope to see Shaq block Kobe really hard...

if he's going to make any attempts at it. he should have his medical insurance card handy just in case.

this statement was takeing out of context. basicly he was just talking to a bunch of kids jokeing around like any of us would at a bball court and said something like this. its not like he walked up to a reporter and said, i am gonna duck on shaq atleast once this season. he just said it to get a bunch of kids going.

Thu Oct 07, 2004 10:38 am

very true, it was taken out of context, but yet again, isn't everything?!

It is funny though that he god little responce from the kids after he said that, maby coz everyone knows, no one dunks on SHAQ!!!

Thu Oct 07, 2004 11:17 am

emeka on shaq.. oh this is gonna be good

I believe that would be Isiah "J.R." Rider who won that Contest under Home Court Advangtage by doing the In-Between-The Legs which was known then as "The East Bay Funk"

shaq wont allow him to do that.
