yeah and everytime someone says it, it makes me laugh. wilt averaged 50 a game one season. shaq has not. case closed.

Shaq is the most dominant center of our generation. When Wilt payed and averaged 50 a game he was playing against 5'7'' white dudes. Yes he had the ocasional battle. (Bill Russel)

Bill Russell was his only real comp and I remeber Bill ruining his champion dreams a few times.

Seriously, what would happen if the manimal named Shaq played in the 50's? He would have scored 60 a game.

i think a better question would be, what would happen if wilt played now? you think shaq actually has comp? do you honestly believe that ben wallace could do anything to wilt? you act like shaq is playing the baddest centers ever, well, you are wrong. this is the age of the guard. you wanna pick the most dominant center ever simply based on who he went against? then imo hakeem would be the best center ever, but he aint. i would take wilt, russel, and kareem over shaq any day.

Good Point. I guess your right, but it means that they are uncomparible since it's tough to judge the era. You really think it's the age of the guard? It seems like the only team that won a championship without a center in the last 15 years was the bulls and that was a special thing. (Jordan) Correct me if I am wrong.

dont get me wrong, haveing a center is huge. the reason i say this is the age of the guard is cause it seems all the best players are guards. sure we got alot of good bigs and all seem to be out west but it seems everyone coming out of college or hs is a guard. maybe calling is the age of the guard is wrong.

Hakeem - finese, agile, graceful & quick

Shaq - strong, dominant, powerful & big

It's a great match, but I'll pick Hakeem Olajuwon over Shaquille O'Neal!
Hakeem is an all-around player, he shoot fadeaways, pivot on either direction in a quick speed for a dunk or reverse lay-ups. Sure, Shaq can slam a powerful dunk over Hakeem's face but i'm pretty sure that he won't just stand there in front and not even attempt to steal or shot-block it! Plus Hakeem is more intelligent in terms of basketball I.Q. (If only Michael Jordan is 7-feet tall, he could be Hakeem Olajuwon; and if Shaq is les than 7-feet, he could be Charles Barkley!)

...I'd pick Hakeem.

His brilliance on the court overshadows Shaq's dominance IMO.

Will we ever see a center with such beautiful footwork as Hakeem The Dream had? It was fun to watch him play, even though I was rooting for Shaq and the Magic. That turn around shimmy shake he used to freeze defenders was a thing to marvel at. By the time the defender recovered he was already releasing his shot. :)
