I don`t know, but he can touch the rim for sure. I have seen that. I think somebody posted it already.

mugsy was shorter than him and he could dunk it. not sure if it was ever done in game though but he could do it.

Tue Sep 07, 2004 3:34 am

I'm pretty sure he can, it's just hard for him. I think I've seen a few pictures of him dunking.

Tue Sep 07, 2004 6:27 am

darius miles said he could dunk on a good day.. i've seen a picture of him dunking when he was on the warriors, if i find it i'll post it

Bah, lazy bums...

Why ask questions that have been answered before? If it's something you want to debate again as time has passed fine, just run a damn search on Google and you're bound to pop up with something, right?!

Boykins Close Dunk.

The Thread.

It was on the second page of NBA talk. *shakes head*

I'm pretty sure, that Muggsy never dunked the ball :?

Tue Sep 07, 2004 11:16 am

he definetly dunked the ball. i dont see why thats so hard to believe. i play ball with people who are really short and can dunk, so why wouldnt a nba player, with the unlimited weight training and condition resources, be able to do it?

Tue Sep 07, 2004 5:04 pm

Short guys like Boykins can dunk, they simply don't do it in games, as it's pretty tiring and they have no really point to do it. The best example was Mitch Richmond who was a pretty good dunker at the start of his career, but after a bunch of years, he simply stopped dunking to specialize in outside shooting.

Richmond owned everyone. He had real low rebounding and assist numbers though.

Man these guys have crazy hops! I'm about 5'11" and there was this guy I saw at the park my height that could do a 360 and grab the rim I still can't even touch the rim :(.

Somebody 5'2" dunking.. I'd have to see it to believe it. Spud Webb was unbelievable enough and when he jumped he just kept going up! These guys must looking like they are taking off into spac!

Wed Sep 08, 2004 7:13 am

dunking at 5'5 or something aint all that impressive at all. they pros and they should be able to dunk. the first time i dunked was in 7th grade when i was around 5'7 during a inter-district game. that was when i was 13 so i dont think itd be that hard for some full-grown busta to dunk at the same height.

Wed Sep 08, 2004 8:29 am

if he ever dunked in a game you would have your photos. i have dunked and i cant show you any photos of that so what does it prove that no one took a picture of him on a playground when he dunked a ball? if you guys dont think a 5'3 guy can dunk a basketball you dont play street ball in the inner city. plenty of people spud webbs height can dunk with ease and there are people much shorter who can dunk, though some need to travel to do it. i am sure in cities like NY or chicago you see this plenty, i know i did in boston.

Wed Sep 08, 2004 8:49 am

I found that article too, Muggsy has confirmed he cannot dunk. He can't palm the ball properly.

Wed Sep 08, 2004 8:57 am

well i guess i was misinformed, and until i can prove otherwise i will stand here and take whatever you all want to toss my way. i was wrong.

The reason these guys don't do it is cause it's not their thing, either that or if they get up there...it's gonna look UGLY when they come down...

Check out that dude on the LSU College Ball Team last year...he went up dunked...some dude ran into his legs afterwards and he fell in mid air and got his NECK on the floor...

There is another guy who plays for the Washington Huskies college team...

He's probably the BEST example of a Little Dunker...Spud didn't wanna do it in game, but this Guy named Nate Robinson does it every single moment he has the ball.

P.S. The Professor of And 1 THREW IT DOWN at the Run N' Shoot Center last month

I've never seen footage or photos, but I remember hearing that he could dunk too, though I found it difficult to believe. I'm pretty sure there was a photo or some segment on NBA Action/NBA Inside Stuff where he dunked off Larry Johnson's shoulders or something like that, but I could be mistaken.

Mon Sep 13, 2004 11:10 pm

umm Spud Webb was 5"7 ....n he pulls off some sick dunks...I mean he did a 360 for god sakes....
I dont think Lil Earl can dunk...but yeh ive seen him layup n im sure he can touch the rim...but I think hes missing that extra hop ...
