Lithuania sucks..

actually it seems that they have more chance of winning the gold than team usa

The key point in this game... was the 4 point play by that short tempered PG. If there was no call, it would be a 2 point game, and maybe they would give it to Duncan...
The thing I hate most is how Jefferson missed that last 3. I mean, he knocked down
3 3 pointers in a row, and had a huge steal, all to lead up to a big dissapointment..

have i ever told ya'll how much ass Marbury sucks.
Not only did he suck ass on 2 pick and rolls which allowed the Lith player to score 2 straights 3's he drove it to the whole and put up rubbish, missed wide open shots and made stupid decisions
USA played alright though, WADE WADE WADE!!!! that kid puts up something and it goes in Marbury cant make a layup
Sun Aug 22, 2004 2:50 pm
Marbury was something like 2-12?
I hate that fucking new no jump balls rule. It's shit! Dwayne Wayde wedges the ball between the ring and the board, and gets rewarded for it by getting the ball back, eventually Boozer gets a pair of free throws on the next possession. Terrible rule.

It was clearly a foul though...
Jasikevicius was just unbeleivable, one of the better performances I've seen in an olympic game of ball.

There's still a fair way to go as well.

is it me or has Tim Duncan NOT commited a foul in these Olympics. He always get called for fouls that weren't even close to being a foul.
That jump ball thing sucks nearly as much ASS as Marbury
Odom did foul that guy, although it was unintentional. The other guy pulled and MJ and leaned in, drew the foul and got to the line. Good play.

It's been said plenty of times already, but I'll say it too - the new jumpball rule is a terrible idea.
I'm probably the only one that thinks this, but were the whistles in the crowd a little too much? I'm fine with waving banners while players are shooting free throws and other noise makers, but the whistles seem to be distracting as it sounds as though the referee is stopping play. I just think it's a little disrespectful to the players.

What jumpball rule ?
Sun Aug 22, 2004 6:21 pm
yeah the whistles suck....and also the "Go Home USA!!" chants from the crowd kinda go against what the Olympics are supposed to be about
Maybe if somebody that could play Defense played instead of Marbury then that guy wouldn't have hit 3 straight, oh well

"Celebrate Humanity...and bad sportsmanship."

Rather than having the traditional jumpball when two players tie up the ball, possession is pre-determined (possibly accordingly to the alignment of the planets).

LOL, great call

I don't know what to make of the whistles and stuff, it's that typical Euro reception - I must admitt I kind of like it. Certainly it can be disruptive to the players, but it's survival of the mentally toughest

I'll take the whistles over the atmosphere they have at the rowing - empty stands

And the "go home USA"... while harsh, it would never happen if the American athletes didn't take every opportunity to show the world how much they love themselves.

^^^true, however i never expected something like this at the Olympics
Mon Aug 23, 2004 12:50 am
Oh, in the beginning of quarters ?
Mon Aug 23, 2004 5:18 am
I don't like the whisltes in the crowd. It's kind of like the cow bells that Dallas has, only worse. For someone who hasn't gone there before, they'll think the play has been stopped, until they find out it's just the fans...
Wade was doing great! He got the ball stuck on the rim (I was dying hahahahhaa

) and had that really nice block when Iverson was guarding that 7 footer.

Before anyone else points it out, that should be "according", not "accordingly". Anyway, glad you found that amusing Stevan.

Is it true that Starbury... (whos crap) dribbled up court stopped and looked at the refs because of a lithuanian fan's whistle???
Tue Aug 24, 2004 1:09 am
yep, but the refs waved to play on
Tue Aug 24, 2004 3:05 am
Yeah thats when they commented about it I was thinking 'man that really sucks'
Anyways, Lithuania is just crazy!! How did one of their players get waived by TOR???? Their team is like 5 pejas on the floor (short and tall alike

)!
I think it's really simple for Team USA. They need guys like Iverson and Marion and company to start knocking down three's. Iverson is a former MVP after all, he should be able to do this stuff. If they can just open the floor up they can give it to Duncan. Duncan is barely getting the ball, I think if he could go to work it's all USA needs. Look at the few times they gave him the ball. He was double, triple teamed, and still made all those crazy bank shots. I think Duncan is their key, if only Iverson and company can get it together, they can give it to Duncan and let him work his bankshot magic.

The 3 point line is a joke............. it's even shorter that the college one?... and three feet shorter than the NBA.
The international rules suck!
This USA team is so unbalanced, plus so many great players turning down the invitation to play for their country.............. USA don't deserve a medal!!!!!!
