We lost another basketball legend - the former Pacer great passed away at age 71. A terrific rebounder, he helped Indiana win three ABA titles during the early 70s. He led the ABA in rebounding three times and is the all-time leader in total rebounds. He briefly played in the NBA for the Nets during the 1976-77 season, and he was an assistant coach on Larry Bird's Indiana State team.

I remember the name from the trivia game in Microsoft Complete Basketball, as it came up a few times in ABA trivia questions. At 71, he's a little older than some of the other former players we've lost this year, but it still feels too young...probably because my folks are reaching that age, and I'd like to think I'll have them around for a little while longer yet. In any event, condolences to his family, RIP.
