He had big potential. instead of trying to dunk over people or show-off, if he worked hard he would be in the level of Kobe and T-MAC today.

the guy that "couldn't shoot" in his rookie season and shot 40% from 3PT range in his sophomore year doesn't work hard?
Then you compare to Tmac (not that he isn't good) who is saying
During the week, he lifts weights in the morning and plays basketball in the afternoon, then goes to a local high school track to run in the evening -- often after dark.
that is the hardest he's ever worked in his life, I even train harder than that.
You are in contradiction with yourself. You say stats dont matter.Well it is the same for me. But you say Carter had his best last year. How come he had his best while not even making playoffs. He had 3 great role players around him. Rose,Bosh(Star potential) and Marshall(Who is maybe the best role player today). i think he had a decent comeback but not his best year.
....and how much dost though know about the Raptors? Not too much I assume. The Raptors were playing a defensive style with players not fit for that at all, they had a stagnant offense that was isolation Carter while everyone else watched him get douled or triples teamed and expected him to "create" shots.
The coach also told the players not to go after offensive rebounds because he wanted them to get back on defense, taking about 1 RPG off Carter's numbers, but you didn't know that right.
The Raptors were last 2nd last in the league in FG%, and 5th last FG attempts per game, I wonder why his assist numbers weren't higher (think Milt Palacio and Michael Curry getting shots).
too many turnovers. Too many freakin turnovers.Even at the year he averaged 27.5 , he did 1 less turnover a game.
His FG percentage fell down.
Stats dont matter most of the time but turnovers and FG percentage are 2 good stats that always matter.
can i ask you something ? Wouldnt Allen suit Toronto more ?
Look at where Pierce and Allen Iverson rank also

, you're saying Carter is shooting bad and turning the ball over, yet Iverson who shoots worse and more, and turns the ball over more is supposed to be better for the team?
Guess why his FG% was down, it's not even so much the teammates, it's how the offense was ran, it was setup to fail because you can't just go to one player without even moving and expect them to do everything, at least if the team had an offensive set that wasn't pick and roll and Carter creates or isolation Carter in the wing.
I mean when he scored 27 and shot 46% he didn't have All-Star teamamtes, but the team actually had an offense, and actually had a capable PG with Alvin when his legs were still alive.
Anyways, Carter needs to regain the fire and to play hard every game not just once every three games, he was very clutch this season, and not only on offense but and defense, and he needs to continue that. People say he doesn't have heart, but that's wrong, what he doesn't have is the motivation maybe to play as well as he can, and the Raptors actually having a real PG will help too, not Jalen Rose.
