Person, a 6-6 swingman, traveled to Miami on Tuesday and is expected to sign a contract with the team this week, according to an associate. He has agreed to accept the Heat's $1.6 million salary-cap exception and would compete with Rasual Butler at small forward.

Not a bad move, he could play the SF position.

Who they gonna start at PF though? Walker? (If he is still on the team that is..) Haslem? Malone? ( )

A Done Deal...Things are looking sweet for the Heat...they have also gotten Doleac, Damon Jones, and Keyon Dooling, so even more good moves there.

This is a good signing for the heat. They add a pure shooter to there bench with a lot of experience. They just have to hope he can stay healthy.

Another player whose a strict shooter. I understand where they're going, by giving Shaq more space, , but they already have players who only shoot jump shots in Butler, Doleac, and Wang.

Haslem will definitely start at PF. Jones could start, with Wade and Jones being the 2 and 3 respectively, but I doubt it.

lets see if all of this plays out right. Miami is basically building a team with everyone having a define role on the team, not just big name players like Dallas had last season.

i guess it just shows miami's lack of depth and high high, very high demands that Shaq and Wade will have to fulfill to bring Miami it's first NBA title, or even finals appearance.

Hudson is out of control though lol sam is cool calm and collected. Hudson can play good for about 15 minutes but for anymore I think he could go a little crazy.

Good move for the Heat IMHO. The team was in dire need of outside shooting and veteran leadership. They get both in class-act Wesley.

True, but if Shaq goes down Heat have nothing. Most other teams are deeper than Miami if a key player goes down.

There's always a place in the NBA for guys like Wesley Person. Teaming a pure shooter like Person with a dominant post presence like Shaq should provide some extra points off the bench. A good acquisition for Miami.
