Just having a quick look at the standing, and memphis is only one game back on dallas, and 2 back of the lakers. LA might end up being the sixth seed in the west, especially with all these injuries (Thanks Ray allen :D ). Do you guys think that The grizz can leapfrog into homecourt for the first round?

Yes they can.
They are gonna win it all  .. you'll all see.

Every1 has their role on the team, no1's a ballhog and they are beating the title contenders.

Unless another one of the Big four goes down, there is now way Memphis is passing the Lakers.

Is malone back yet? If not, i think they can pass the lakers if la just has shaq and payton. 2 of the big 4 isnt enough.. they dont seem to be playing with much fire. But shaq and payton in the past have been very competetive.. so who knows. it should be interesting

it will be great to see minny out the first round and the griz to finally make the playoffs....forget about reachign 2nd round, just making it is a major accomplishment for the franchise. Took them like 8 or 9 years since they were an expansion team, but bearing a dramatic losing streak, it looks like they will finally make it :applaud:

Yeah, bucks are anther surprise. However, I'd give it to Hubie basically because the east only has 5 teams over .500 and the West as we all know is loaded and has the top teams in the league ( Indiana is probably the east best chance of winning it)

Also if you check the division Memphis is in, with every team at or above .500 compare to the bucks with 3 teams above .500 ( facing the mavs, spurs, and rockets is much tougher than the pacers and hornets)

no Porter doesnt get nothing! like i said in the beginning Hubie is Coach of the Year period. He made the biggest improvement even though the Nuggets had the most wins, but that was because they won like 17 games last yaer. Hubis is Coach of the Year period and Jerry West even said "if Hubie doesnt win it, I should'nt be in basketball."

Jerry West should be Executive of the Year as well, because he brought in talent and didnt have a raelly good team. Look at the Twolves GM, he had KG so thats how he brought talent. Lakers GM brought in talent because of Kobe and Shaq. Joe Dumars had Rip, Billups and Ben Wallace. Isaiah is the only one that can compete what West has done. West has brought in James Posey, Mike Miller, Bo Outlaw, Bonzi Wells, Jake Tskalidis, Troy Bell, Dahntay Jones and Theron Smith. All of them contributed in a big way this season. West has brought in so much talent that our bench scores 35 ppg and leads the NBA. We have so much depth that its so tough to defend us cuz u never know who will come up big for us. We are one good/solid/star away from being championship contenders. If you add a star to all the depth we have, we will be one of the best teams in the league no doubt

Grizzlies can take the Mavs in the playoffs. They have beated the Lakers with the big 4 and the Lakers dont have as much chemistry as the Grizz do. The Grizz can also take the Spurs, because they don't have no type of other players except for a few to help out Duncan and when Duncan is there, they dont do anything. Everybody has been talkin about them now on ESPN and everywhere. Ive been talkin about them since the beginning of the year, and they are finally getting some recognition. With a 40-24 record and the 2nd best record after the all-star break. They are right behind the Pacers who has a 1/2 game lead. There is nothing to say, but this team is for real. Now if u look at Denver, they arent for real because they have been prooving it. :D :D :D

ur being a little bias here sbhzmafia...Porter and Bezdilk does deserve to get some recognitions...they both coached teams that were suppose to be woeful this year...but they actually done a pretty well job turn things around...but i agree,Hubie Brown gets my vote for coach of the year, beacause there were not major addition except Posey,Bucks already have a awsome young SG in Redd and an athletic Mason plus a TJ Ford..so u would see they do better...same for Denver they got one of teh top three picks in the draft who could fill the scoreboard in bunches...but my vote goes to Memphis..wonders if they got the 4-5 pick in last June draft..they might be even powerful....taking a big man like Kaman..

Unless I'm looking at information that is a game behind, the Grizzlies need one more victory to reach 41 wins for the season. In other words with one more win, they'll be guaranteed a .500 finish even if they lose every game after that. I don't think they'll stop at 41 though.

Hubie Brown definitely deserves consideration for Coach of the Year, and West has certainly improved the roster since taking over GM duties - he too should be a frontrunner for an award this year. But Porter deserves credit for the job he's done in Milwaukee, too. Even though they're in the East, they weren't expected to be among the top eight teams in the conference. Similarly, Denver has greatly improved (though they are slipping).

I think Hubie would be a good choice for COY, though Rick Carlisle, Rick Adelman and Flip Saunders probably stand a better chance of winning the award due as their teams are higher in the standings. If last year's award winners are anything to go by, the leading candidates will be seperated by their team's record.

Well this year, they are giving more recognition to the other coaches such as: Nuggets coach, Porter, Hubie, Sloan. Yea and everyone is expectin the Grizzlies to win 50 games this year, because you also have to look at they had the 2nd toughest schedule in the NBA this year before the all-star break. The way the rest of their schedule looks, they can definitely win 50 games and we will get it. :o

Well, they finally won 41 games....16more games to go..1behind lakers now surprisely. 50 wins ain't out the question since they play 9 of their final 16 games against teams with losing records

Congrats to the Grizzlies. (Y) They may not have steadily improved like their fellow expansion buddies the Toronto Raptors, but West has certainly made a difference in his short tenure as GM.
