KG
Duncan
Brand
JOneal
Dirk

KG is better than Duncan.. reason why Duncan won a ring is b/c he is more dominating inside threat.. he is a center type of PF..
KG is better b/c he is more versatile.. he can shoot better outside and passes better, hits tons of tough shots.. can play D on big guards and big men..

Duncan is stronger.. he is a better post presence .. gets more easy baskets..

i don't know why Webber is rated so high here. The guy is soft and is unable to takeover a game in the CRUNCH. He repeatedly settles for 20ft J's and his stats are inflated because of the guys around him.

Because he's a good PF?? Yeah, he's soft...always injured, but he's also one of the best passing' big mans of the league. He has a good range for a big guy, and can play in the post.

Dirk only plays Offense, and when thats not on he has nothing to contribute

Ben Wallace should be up higher on the list, 4 or 5. With the exception of perhaps Duncan, KG and JO theres no PF that can dominate a game like B Wallace, especially when it counts

LOL, some people call him Irk :P ...but also can grab some def. rebounds...
I don't think Big Ben can dominate a game, IMO. He's just a veeery biiig defensive presence.

Duncan is stronger.. he is a better post presence .. gets more easy baskets..

Are you sure about that? Almost every team in the NBA double-team Duncan.

Ben Wallace would be in my list, but for the past couple seasons, including this year, he is a starting center for the Eastern Conference. This type of stuff is confusing though, so many players play so many different positions while they should be playing anther position ( like sprewell was playing SF with knicks instead of his natural SG, kurt thomas playing C instead of PF, etc.)

Almost every team double team Duncan...
But he positions himself down in the low post much closer to the basket than KG.. If you watch thier games, you would know how many times Garnett is forced or positions himself at 12-13 foot taking fadaway jumpers while Duncan just keeps getting fed the ball and shoots hook shots and bankers when he is 1 on 1 .. This makes Duncan more dominating but doesn't mean his shots are tougher than KG's midrange fadaways.. i'm very impressed the way he can shoot those.. i was shocked watching him hit 1 after another

Yes i'm sure

i was talking about Ben Wallace. I just don't see Webber as a top 5 PF. Anyway, i put Ben Wallace so high because he can dominate a game much better than Brand. Brand is better offensively but he doesn't have the same impact on the game as B Wallace

well Crawford4MIP, if we take 'leadership' into account then Duncan would be at the top of the list here because he has 2 rings. This maybe should have been clarified at the beginning of the thread. I put KG @ #1 because no player does more for their team than KG.

If you're going to take Dirk off your list because he only plays offense then in theory shouldn't Big Ben be taken off as well since he only plays defense...?

well i look at it like this. If Dirk doesn't have his shot going on he has practically nothing to contribute to the game. Ben however always has his Defense, defense isn't something that you have to find a rhythm, it's always there. Why is Ben so high on my list? Well, like i said before, he can dominate a game better than any other PF with probly the exceptions of TD, KG and JO

Elton Brand is amazing on defence.. and his offensive rebounding is soo dominating and he manages a lot of baskets off those..
I don't think many people watch him as a Clipper THIS year.. i think he is having a breakout season impact wise.. he is definetly better than Wallace impacting the game.. I see him get blocks big def boards then score on the other end... Ben Wallace is still a little better on Def..

Ben Wallace can't dominate the game that well because half the game is offense and half is defense, if the other team hits a three and you are down by 2 you can't go to Ben Wallace to score. Ben Wallace also can't be out on the perimeter making clutch blocks on three pointers so there is not presence there. KG, Duncan, JO, Brand and Webber will be classified as better players than Ben because they can carry a team, and much as Ben wants to he can't because defense without any offense can't win games.

I feel that Rasheed shouldn't be in there though, well at least not over JO. He's a very good defender, and a pretty good, and efficient scorer, but not that good a rebounder for a F-C, common his highest rebounding average was 8.2 rpg, and its not like he wasn't playing minutes. He also doesn't get on the offensive glass, he offensive rebounds like a 2 guard, and he's not a dominating blocking presence but he's a good one.

1. TD
2. KG
3. JO
4. Brand
5. Kirilenko

I put TD at one just cuz he's more of a PF then KG imho(and the rings), but KG can do it all, is more versatile and can play all positions. So i see him more as an SF, same with kirilenko, who's having a great season and tops c-webb(has yet to play a game this season, i know technically you could say if i based on this season's play, kg should definately be ahead of TD but is coming to his own the last few games) and the beast(he might have the biggest impact on defence overall but he just hasn't got the allround skills that kirilenko does).

Yea but then KG, Duncan, Brand, JO, Webber , and i'm not gonna say Dirk because he just block because he's tall. But the rest can make a defensive play and then also go back on offense and seal the game or hit the winner etc.

you have a valid point there. O'neal has blossomed into an awesome player. to me, wallace has been very good for many years now. for me, that gives the him the edge. also i factored in that wallace is very versatile on both ends of the court, something that o'neal isn't and i doubt will become.
