I haven't heard anything about this and i don't think Blazers will trade Sheed for KVH,unless NY will add Kurt Thomas

I dunno the contracts aren't too far off, Sheed making 16 million and Van Horn 13 million this year but who knows. I heard Charlie Ward could be waived by the Suns and that the Nets and the Spurs want him.

I hope this trade does go through, although i dont think it will. Penny could be slotted in at sf... and with mutumbo and sheed up front thats a nice frontline, and one of the better backcourts in the league... if it happens, ill have a beer and celebrate, if it doesnt, new york still has a good line up and should make the playoffs (y)

Tales I think some of these rumours are comming from "magical" sources that nobody else has access to :D But seriously I'd hope they're true.

Also, someone said that Darius Miles was a good defender, so there ya go, perfect for the Knicks at the 3, though I'd like to see Penny get some time!

If it doesn't, I'm guessing you'll have a beer and celebrate anyway (y) :D

i don't see a Van Horn for Wallace deal..even though Wallace does have a image problem, I think Portland can get more than that for Wallace.. even wih Kurt Thomas in it, I don't think it will help Portland, because Van Horn contract is pretty expensive and has some years to go.

actually that'll be a good chance...considering no one is willing to offer good pf for him and his image..plus the need to move him for Randolph so this might not be as bad a deal as it might thought out to be...also if there's no good pf on the trade block and i know Blazers doesn't wanna keep him Van Horn might be the best player avaliable...especially that Bonzi Wells has been traded to Memphis...so it doesn't sound too bad..

If the Knicks get Rasheed, damn, that would be sweet... Givin' up KVH and some guy like Moochie... They would be top-4 on the East for sure...

Frank Williams could be next, since they have Starbury now, theirs not really a need for him.

Ward was also waived by the Suns yesterday

Isiah what are you thinking, please no.........

http://www.nypost.com/sports/knicks/44663.htm

Asked of a rumor that had Wallace coming to Phoenix for Shawn Marion, Colangelo said, "No and double no." ......Haha who would ask such a question, Marion is younger, a better defender, rebounder, scorer and then you ask something like that.

Several days before Stephon Marbury was acquired, Thomas presented the Hawks with a moderately similar offer they had no trouble rebuffing. According to an hospitable southerner, Atlanta was asked to relinquish Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Jason Terry and Chris Crawford for Antonio McDyess, Doleac, Charlie Ward, Michael Sweetney, New York's first round pick in '04 and the rights to Milos Vujanic. Oh, yeah, and the Hawks were supposed to release McDyess so the Knicks could re-sign him when he cleared waivers.

Thomas refused to comment on the info except to say, "What's wrong with being greedy?"

Many things actually, but I guess someone of his stature is above all the corruption and destruction that are fathered by greed.

Any source on that ? Cause I don't believe that :)
Now if you told me Layden made that offer ... sure. But Zeke ? :)

Yes, Thomas offered Ward for Miles before the Stephon trade.
Cleveland rejected, they wanted Williams instead.

I'm hoping for a Big Z + Miles trade to NY.

Let's pray :D

Thomas, who has pulled off two trades, has shown interest in Rasheed Wallace, Darius Miles, and Jamal Crawford. Thomas wouldn't comment on reports that he's made Chicago an offer for Crawford. Other players who might be available are Atlanta's Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Seattle's Rashard Lewis. It seems Wallace is Thomas' No. 1 target, though.

"Knicks, indeed, have offered to take either Jerome Williams or Eddie Robinson off the Bulls' cap along with Jamal Crawford for Shandon Anderson and Frank Williams . . . Knicks and Raptors have also discussed an Anderson-Lamond Murray switch . . . While fielding bids for Wallace, the Blazers notified the league Dale Davis is available . . . Spurs continue to shop Ron Mercer . . . 76ers continue to shop Derrick Coleman and sources say they're now prepared to include Eric Snow if the price is right. "

Thomas' interest in Crawford, the fourth-year player, could be taken in different ways. One theory is that Thomas wants to upgrade the Knicks backcourt with a player, Crawford, who at 6-5 can play both guard positions. The other, less likely, scenario is that Thomas could be working on a bigger deal, one that could include Keith Van Horn or even Allan Houston - who is thought to be untouchable and untradeable - going to Portland for Wallace.

There are two worst-kept secrets at the Garden. One is that Marbury, despite his conciliatory words about Van Horn, doesn't respect his former Nets teammate. The other is Thomas isn't too fond of Van Horn, either. The day he was hired to clean up the Knicks, Thomas was asked about the Latrell Sprewell-for-Van Horn trade. After a shrug, Thomas' exact words were: "What's done is done." That wasn't a ringing endorsement.

Eddy Curry Might not be so untouchable anymore

Skiles wrote:''So far, I think we know what we've got [in Curry],'' Bulls coach Scott Skiles said Monday before the Bulls faced the Wizards. ''We've got a very skilled big man who struggles with his conditioning and has been part of Bulls teams that have racked up huge amounts of losses.

''It is what it is. That's not just a knock at Eddy. As I've said before, that's everybody who's been part of that. I don't know that there's a big mystery about it all of a sudden, about what Eddy is or anybody else.''

But Paxson isn't the type to protect anyone on a roster that does nothing but lose. That's why Paxson didn't extend Crawford's contract last summer and won't extend the contracts of Curry or Tyson Chandler this summer

Tom Gugliotta said he is aware of a rumor that he could be traded to Utah before the league deadline Feb. 19.

"I've heard it, but I don't know anything about it," Gugliotta said. "If it happens, it will be for financial reasons."

It makes some sense. Utah, with a payroll of $30.529 million, is well below the league salary cap and could absorb all of Gugliotta's $11.68 million salary without sending anything to the Suns in return except possibly a draft pick.

And Jazz forward Matt Harpring is out for the season because of knee surgery, leaving Utah in need of a big forward. It might also explain why Gugliotta, who hadn't played in the previous four games, suddenly made an appearance against Portland on Sunday.

Miami not dealing

Riley said the Heat's immediate needs are a frontcourt player with size and another backup point guard.

He also reiterated that the Heat, whose $45.5 million payroll is just above the $43.84 million salary cap, won't make a move to dump contracts.

"The last thing we want to do is make a lateral move and give up something," Riley said. "We've been in on a couple of things, but I think it has to be the right player for this team for the future."

With the mid-level exception next season, which should be around $5 million, and the possibility of having another lottery pick, the Heat appears content to ride out the season to see which current players can contribute. It would then use the off-season to make a big move as it did a year ago by signing forward Lamar Odom.

"This year, we have the players we can build around," Riley said.
