Fri Nov 22, 2002 11:32 am

Uhm whatever I said about fotwork I take it back. Yao Ming will be great, this is no fluke, amazing amazing I am watching this game...AMAZING!

Fri Nov 22, 2002 11:58 am

Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:04 pm

OMG!!! 27 pts, 9 rebs, 9/11 shooting!!!!!!

FUCK!!!

GO YAO! :)

he gonna set some records if he gets to stay in that game...maybe even break some Jordan rookie numbers...

Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:06 pm

(6:39) [HOU] Ming Turnover: Bad Pass (3 TO) Steal: Bradley (1 ST)
(6:53) [DAL 64-62] Griffin Layup Shot: Made (8 PTS) Assist: Nowitzki (3 AST)
(6:57) [HOU] Ming Turnover: Bad Pass (2 TO) Steal: Griffin (2 ST)

two straight tornovers by Yao.....scary...

Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:11 pm

The Rockets are doing what I said they should have been doing in the Yao Ming - Top Pick? thread - letting him play. A double-double aready with 27 and 10, shooting 90% on FTs so far and 81% from the field.

Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:14 pm

too bad the Mavs are starting to slowly dominate ...
Houston 65, Dallas 73

i noticed tht rice is playing...i didn't pay attention t omany rocks games...when did he come back?

same with Mo...

meanwhile both Stevie and Mobley are having TERRIBLE games...

i'm suddenly starting to wonder how many blks Yao got by now...

Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:18 pm

Rice has been back for a few games now, coming off the bench averaging 4.3ppg.

Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:21 pm

4.3? pretty soft....should go up though with this game....meanwhile, houston brought kenny in for the rest of the quarter i guess...they better play yao in the 4th.....they won't win the mavs anyway, at least let him score me some stats for my yahoo fantasy leagues :)

Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:24 pm

Yeah, sad to see Rice go the way of Mitch Richmond and Patrick Ewing. His career has been going downhill since the Charlotte/Los Angeles trade back in 1999. I thought Mo Taylor would be playing more as well.

Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:26 pm

ya....trades and minor injuries slow veterans down like hell...rice and pippen are perfect examples of that...

the score in the end of the 3rd is Houston 74, Dallas 80

the rocks better play Ming and hope that he continues to score them FGs if they want to have a chance to win, although i truly can't see the rocks winning this one...

Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:32 pm

10 point difference with just under 9 to play. Possible, but not probable. Cuttino still struggling to say the least.

Fri Nov 22, 2002 1:37 pm

well....mavs won...

Ming ended up with 30 and 16...2 blks as well.....

defenatly the most notable personal achievement of the week...

Fri Nov 22, 2002 1:37 pm

Well, the Mavericks prevailed 103-90, but Ming led all scorers with 30 on 10-12 FGs and 10-12 FTs. Ming also had 16 rebounds and 2 blocks in 33 minutes. Guess all he needed was a chance to play, as any first overall pick should.

Fri Nov 22, 2002 1:38 pm

Great minds think alike. :D

Fri Nov 22, 2002 1:42 pm

haha

Fri Nov 22, 2002 1:43 pm

well me go sleep...hope that the seattle portland game turns out to be a goot one....

Fri Nov 22, 2002 7:17 pm

Well, it was a close game (89-85 Blazers) but nothing more noteworthy than Ming's first really impressive game or the Mavericks' record tieing 12-0 start to the season. Damon Stoudamire registered a DNP though. By moving Scottie Pippen to the point, the Blazers freed up their logjam at SF, only to increase their logjam at PG.

Sat Nov 23, 2002 7:13 am

Ming is on a shooting % tear

Through the last five games Ming is 31/35 from the field. The record is 32/36 held by Tyrone Hill in the 94-95 season(His all-Star seaon I think). Lets see if Ming can pull it out. He only has to make his next two shos to break it.

Sat Nov 23, 2002 11:12 am

He has the best shooting percentage through 6 games ever in the NBA. He is shooting 88.6% from the field. That beats Wilt Chamberlains record of 86.7% (I think).

Sat Nov 23, 2002 11:20 am

wow...damn... i thought that najera was the best shooter currently...

while beating wilt...lol...damn....

Sat Nov 23, 2002 1:39 pm

Rockets 91, Wizs, 78... 2:50 left...

Yao Ming: 29 mins, 18 pts (7-11 and 4-4), 8 rebs and 2 assists so far...

Sat Nov 23, 2002 5:16 pm

4 Blocks

Sat Nov 23, 2002 6:01 pm

A less impressive, but still a solid game from Ming, this one resulting in a Rockets victory.

Sun Nov 24, 2002 4:15 pm

True Andrew but Id take 18 & a win over 30 & a loss anyday dont you agree.

Mon Nov 25, 2002 12:43 pm

For sure. He still had a good game, but the 30 point game kind of gave everyone unnecessarily high expectations. I'm not saying that game was a fluke of course, but everyone has nights that are better than others.

His latest game wasn't as good, 4 points and 7 rebounds in 28 minutes. Meanwhile, Glen Rice seems to be re-emerging, he had 23 and is back in the starting lineup. Nice game for Steve Francis, 31 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds, but a 90-89 Clippers victory.
