Clippers dismantled...

Hopefully by losing all those free agents, fans will protest Donald Sterling and the Clippers. If you've been a "Clipper fan" there is no reason why you should still be because Donald Sterling only cares about 1 thing. He's found a way to make money with a losing team and will continue to do so aslong as dumbass fans like you continue to support his team. I hope someday the NBA steps in and gets rid of this loser or forces him to move the team to San Diego or somewhere else where he won't be able to hide under the Lakers shadow.

Donald will make money, yes... He will keep getting on the lottery, adding pieces, only to not resign them... He will have a hard time being able to get over the league minimum (!) salary cap... So, Clippers fans, if there are any... Get your pillows, sit down on your beds and start cryin'... For you won't see a winning team in your lives...

Clippers are just a sad story..2 years ago they almost made the playoffs, so when they picked up Andre Miller from the Cavs, a lot of people thought they were going to be playoff bound but it turns out they got worst.

Whats really stupid is that people actually buy season tickets to Clipper games. Donald Sterling needs to stop promoting the Clippers as a team and should instead try to sell tickets this way "NBA Basketball presented by Donald Sterling."

considering odom's problems staying healthy and staying away from weed, i don't think teams want to offer a lot of money to him. he's a great talent but just too much baggage he's carrying with him right now. i think it's better off he resigns one year w/clips and proves he can remain healthy and drop the marijuana problem.

Absolutely 100% agree. He'd be much better served on a team like Detroit or Philadelphia, where he'd fit in well with future plans. It'd be great to see him on a team in playoff contention, like I thought the Clips were. Who knows? Just being with the Clippers could be the reason behind his weed problem. Never know, trade could happen.

I thought Lamar Odom for Sprewell would have a been a good trade. Odom is an NY guy and Spree could be a great go to guy with the Clipps esp now that Corey is leaving for hick town.

Seems we aren't giving the Clippers enough credit, as they intend to match offers for Brand and Maggette. Still, it wouldn't have been surprising if they didn't.

As I've said many times before...I'm sure Clippers fans would love if Sterling opened his wallet and had the fine Championship bound franchise of:
Keith Closs, Loy Vaught, Lamond Murray, Malik Sealy, Bo Outlaw, Stanley Roberts, Lorenzen Wright, Bison Dele, Derek Anderson and Maurice Taylor.

Also, don't forget that Sterling has never failed to match an offer when he has held right of first refusal.

But it's the idea of letting players walk without getting anything in return that most of us criticise. Loy Vaught had some decent years for the Clippers, as did Lamond Murray and Maurice Taylor. Keith Closs and Stanley Roberts are the only players that don't really matter.

None of the other players are worth huge deals, but consider what can be done with a sign and trade. The Grant Hill for Ben Wallace/Chucky Atkins trade seemed to favour Orlando when it was made back in 2000 - certainly not the case now.

Vaught, Murray and Taylor may have had good season with the Clippers, but not afterwards. Vaught had his career ending injury with the Clippers so they let him walk, Murray was a hot head, and Taylor doesn't rebound. Why wouldn't you let any of those players walk? They were only fairly good players because they were Clippers. After they left, nothing. And Murray he had resigned with first-right-of-refusal (like always) but dealt for Derek Anderson, who he let walk instead of giving the max.

Sterling is a freakin genius, he makes money every year while waiting for actual quality talent, which he now has with Brand and Maggette. Now he has two great players, possibly three with Odom, still a young team, and still loads of cap space if they want to make another move. Instead of having loads of cash tied up in the players I mentioned.

As for the Hill for Wallace trade (Chucky Atkins doesn't count, he actually makes that trade look good for Orlando), what do you mean it doesn't seem to favor Orlando? It does! They got to the second round last year beating Detroit after all. Just ask Tracy McGrady. He said it felt good to finally be in the second round.

You don't let everyone walk without compensation. If Portland can engineer a sign-and-trade involving Chris Dudley, the Clippers could have pulled off some shrewd moves involving some of those players. You're quite right when you say that giving those players max deals would have been foolish, but I'm saying there are other avenues that the Clippers could have taken, namely sign-and-trade deals.
