Latrell Sprewell

Sun Jun 22, 2003 9:26 pm

Why is this guy always on the trading block?

Sun Jun 22, 2003 9:35 pm

He's the Knicks' most valuable trade commodity, the only player they could possibly trade for a young star since Allan Houston's contract makes him virtually impossible to move.

Speaking of the rumours about Spree, to the Raptors, I wonder why the Raptors would have to give up the higher pick (#4) AND the better player (JYD) in this trade for #9 pick and Spree.
Before everybody jumps up to comment, JYD isn't necessary better than Spree, but he sure is younger, bigger, has a better contract and is a fan favourite in Toronto.

Rumor has it Houston could go to Houston for Griffin/Rice/Mobley.

Mon Jun 23, 2003 10:06 am

wow! i wouldnt trade mobley whit rice and griffin!

Mon Jun 23, 2003 12:24 pm

I wouldn't make that trade either. But that scenario is a fine example of the problem with Houston - he can't be moved for just one or two players. He has to be traded for three players with reasonably sized deals - which means the Knicks will get the better end of the deal.

I wouldn't trade for houston because of his contract...you give him 2=3 years in a team, he gets lazy, and pulls a "howard"...

meanwhile the spree trade would only benefit the raps if they draft a C at #9 or sign one...

Mon Jun 23, 2003 3:11 pm

you give him 2=3 years in a team, he gets lazy

and how do you come to this conclusion oh so brave one

Mon Jun 23, 2003 3:17 pm

he has a guaranteed contract for a shiteload of money.......i don't see a reason for him to not get lazy as long as he gets the money....

Mon Jun 23, 2003 3:25 pm

i don't see a reason for him to not get lazy

so what u are saying is that he hasn't actually got lazy yet...but if he does decide to get lazy in the future, he has reason to?

Mon Jun 23, 2003 4:26 pm

before i start- i'm not juwan's agent...

i'm not sure what you mean there in howard being lazy, but i didn't see howard get fat and get out of shape after signing a big contract like other nba players have. and if you look at howards stats this year, he didn't have a 'lazy' year: 17.9ppg/7.5rebs/3asts and a career best 50%from 3pt land. most of his stats this year were improvements from last year's

after investing a fantasy pick on howard, i followed his play throughout this past nba season....

being on a sorry team like the nuggets, i figured howard would play his butt off, in hopes to get traded to a contending team. but he remained on the nuggets after the trade deadline passed. so i figured howard would throw in the towel for the rest of the season. but to my surprise, howard finished the season strong and emerged as the team's leader.

he probably isn't worth the contract he is signed for (but who really is these days?), but at least howard gave a more then respectable effort this year.

Mon Jun 23, 2003 4:49 pm

first of all, that trade rumor AINT a rumor, it was an article on espn(or cnnsi dunt remember exactly) and the guy gave five SUGGESTIONS of what nba teams need to do, so dont start a trade rumor when it aint true man

Just because he shoot .400% that doesnt mean hes a bad player as you say it. Sprewell is a great 1 on 1 player on offense and aswell at defence. Sure he isnt as good as he used to be, but no doubt about it that hes an above avarage player

good one on one player i dont think so bro!vs utah sprewell was one on one with malone malone was in the free throw line and spre shooted a 3 pointer!
he s bad really bad

It's truly frustrating you know Spree has given a lot on our team since he has been around then what our freaking GM wants to do is just trying to deal him to another team and maybe will get another PG in the draft if he get a higher pick. Well, I think Spree has declined a lot but you know he has give a lot on our team.

Mon Jun 23, 2003 10:53 pm

sprewell runs like bear!lol

Spree can knock down open three´s so that why he took the shot, but is that the only argument you have to say that he sucks?

Mon Jun 23, 2003 10:58 pm

no he have missed several dunks in the games.he is bad 3 pont shooter(i dont care 9-9 three point field goals-that was boring)

Your nickname cant shoot the ball, he must be a bad player.

Mon Jun 23, 2003 11:06 pm

it doesnt matter if he missed dunks....Im pretty sure that even the greatest players of all time missed dunks including MJ so that doesnt make them bad, and that 9-9 shooting by Spree shows that he can shoot three´s, if you tought it was boring or not.
