There isnt really a deadline. Some guys may not even get signed until the season is well underway. See: Last year's Anderson Varejao, Sasha Pavlovic.

None? The Trade Deadline is usually the Thursday following ASW, and free agency deadline is the playoffs, but I'm not 100% on what exactly you mean here...

Yeah, I think you've got it confused with the midseason trade deadline. There are restrictions on when you trade rookies and free agents you've signed (the reason the Artest to Houston deal was delayed until the 14th) but there aren't any deadlines in the offseason as far as signing someone or making a trade.
You do have to trim your roster to a maximum of 15 players before the season starts though.

Well yeah, apart from those. I assumed he meant off-season deadlines.
