" Kevin Garnett did his best to shoot down a rumored trade that would have sent him from the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Boston Celtics for Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, the No. 5 pick and filler.
Garnett reportedly prefers a trade to the Phoenix Suns. However, according to a league source, if Minnesota decides not to trade Garnett, they may try to swing a deal for Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest. "

It'll be interesting to see who Wolves offer for Artest!

That wouldnt do anything for Minny, except give Minny someone to babysit.
Wed Jun 27, 2007 6:39 am
yeah, would probably make them even worse lol. there is no reason why artest is even in the nba still.

Ron Artest = Pac-Man Jones of basketball
If it does happen, maybe they'll give the Kings Juwan Howard

.
There's even a rumor going around about Bryant for Garnett.

Now that trade is stupid!

It would probably involve Ricky Davis because his contract is off the books after this coming season. I don't know who else the Wolves would have to add but as good of a player as Artest is, he is a headcase and he is usually only good for about half a season before he does something dumb.

yeah, for sum reason, he's always been a bust for the new team after making a postive impact. but i would like to see this happen, garnett wid another star.
so ideal roster would be something like this after the trade;
garnett
juan howard
ronny artestic
trenton hassell
randy foye

2 pf 2sf 1 pg?

I'm not even gonna delete the double post, because that was awesome
On topic, Artest will make the Wolves a slightly better team, imo, but not contenders.

When Ron was in Indiana he said he would never want to play with a pussy big man like Kevin Garnett. A lot of people thought it was just a subtle shot at Jermaine O'Neal, but I doubt KG has forgotten that, and I doubt Minny would make a move for a guy that called the franchise player a pussy who has a history of mental instability.

Rumor has it that KG's gonna go to the Celtics. I wonder how sauru and Riot feels about that.

KG, Pierce, and Ray Allen. Not too shabby.

Then Gerald Green then....... Kendrick Perkins? Telfair? The Celtics may have 3 (aging) franchise players but they sacrificed ALL of their depth and future.
T-Wolves come out on top here. Although in NBA Live, the Celtics will probably have a 96 rating or something ridiculous like that.

So anyway I am playing a custom team (redrafted all of the modern NBA players) and I had the fifth pick overall.
But I didn't like the fact that my squad was a bit young. So I put on my GM suit and went to work.
After all was said and done...I came out with a DREAM starting 5 for any short-term franchisee.
C - Kendrick Perkins, 22yrs old
PF - Ryan Gomes ,24 yrs old
SF - Paul Pierce, 29 yrs old
SG - Ray Allen, 31 yrs old
PG - Kevin Garnett, 30 yrs old
Yeah, I let KG play his "natural" possition. Besides, this way he overpowers other PG's.
The problem with my team though is my bench, which consists of Brian Scalabrine, Leon Powe and other future NBA prospects.
But that all doesnt matter...I am still scratching my head...on why the computer let me have such a dominating and impressive starting 5.
I am good for the next 3 seasons at least with those 5. Then I can work on my bench in that time span.
Anyway, Im thinking of starting over because I feel real bad about what I did to a machine that does not take into account CURRENT VALUE.
Anyone else here feel bad about ripping off the computer?

Garnett's natural position is PG?

Danny Ainge wrote:Get with the times guys. B-ball aint the game it used to be. Garnett likes playing outside anyway. In todays game, Guys like Garnett, Duncan and Odom LEAD the offense. While smaller ,more buff, guards like Kidd and Marbury like to take it inside. Its evolution in the works.
Besides, I read an article stating that Garnett played some PG in high school.
Try being the T-wolves and move Garnett at the point...just watch what you do to opposing guards. Thought you had a ton of steal before...well you aint seen nothing yet.
...
Ya know what?
When I originally posted my message...I figured you guys would think that Garnett at PG was such a cool, inventive and original idea. But apparently I was wrong.
