ppl now saying he's overrated just bcuz he played poorly in 1 playoff series
i don't get this
tell me
where were all these anti dirk ppl during regular season and last year in finals
he played great 82 games and played poorly just in 5 games
plz keep that in mind it could happen to anybody
wade & shaq also did suck(i know of injury but sweep?)
yes his team got knocked out in first round
but to me it was GS playing over their potential... credits to em
anything can happen in nba
remember knicks(seed 8) dismissing miami(seeded 1) in first round?
dirk is one of the top quality plyer
he truly deserved mvp this year (& i'm canadian from victoria where nash's from)

Dirk pity has been around far longer than just this playoffs. People have said Dirk can't step up for a long time now...he's been surrounded with some incredible talent (Nash, young Finley, young Walker, young Antwan Jamison, Don Nelson) and until last year has never been able to make a real playoff push.
Dirk doesn't have his own shoe or any shoe branding, doesn't appear much ni the media, isn't really a celebrity outside of Dallas games...i don't think Dirk has that much of a fanbase. I know his jersey didn't sell even in the top20, which even Ben Gordon managed.

why did you make a new thread to argue this? why not just argue what people are saying in the thread its being said in? and BTw playing poorly in 5 playoff games in unacceptable, specially vs the 8th seed. now i dont wanna throw the entire thing on dirk, avery was so out coached it was not even funny. he pretty much did everything don nelson needed him to do so the warriors could win. avery looked like a puppet in that series.
