Garbo was one of the best rookies of the eyar. In all honesty, Morrison didn't even deserve 2nd team honors. I mean, he can't do anything but score; and he isn't even that good at that. His nightmarish FG% and lack of impact on a lottery team makes the mere thought of a first-team berth a travesty.

I think I might have even picked a couple of those players to be named to the correct All-Rookie teams in the awards thread, a rare hit amongst a series of misses with my predictions this year. Great to see Thomas make the second team.

Garbajosa was an impact rookie, which was uncommon among this year's class. He definitely deserves to be there ahead of Morrison. Hell, even Tyrus Thomas should have had more votes than him.

I am so disapointed about the year Morrison had - I really expected him to be a good NBA player - a 14 ppg, 4-5 reb, 45% kind of guy.

I knew Morrison would be just another great white hype. There's nothing about his game that really translates well into the NBA except for his ball IQ.

Jokes aside, I still think that Morrison can be a serviceable player in the league, but more or less on the level of Mike Dunleavy.

Keith Van Horn went backwards every year in his career after his sophomore season. But he could also still offer a lot to a contending team, looking for that little bit of extra scoring punch. Like the Cavs or Lakers. Well, maybe not the Lakers as he is a defensive black hole.

To the question at hand, I'd say Van Horn. Better rebounder and a better NBA body. Adam Morrison looks like he should be playing mini-golf.

Van Horn averaged...16 or something in his career, and about 7 boards a game too. His field goal percentage wasn't bad either.

Van Horn wasn't a bad player - it just hurt him to be drafted the same year as Tim Duncan, as he kind of over shadowed his early succes

I remember someone gave Van Horn a first place vote for ROY over Duncan - at least Morrison didn't get any.

Van Horn can play both foward spots, can rebound the ball and can hit shots at a fairly good clip. He's like a 44% career fg shooter, which isn't bad considering he's a 6'10 jumpshooter rather than a low-post banger. He was a solid #2 guy next to Marbury until they started hating each other.

Morrison on the other hand has skills that are below average except for scoring, and even then he still shoots at a piss-poor percentage.

Keith Van Horn was the perfect example of a guy who the league figured out. There became a blueprint on how to stop him and he was unable to adjust. The same thing happened to Dino Radja, it just happened much faster, and he quickly went back to Europe with his tail between his legs.

That's not true, if a guy gets drafted and gets DNP-CD every game for the entire season, he still was a rookie. If you get drafted but don't get put on to the roster then you are a rookie whenever you actually join the team, but it has nothing to do with whether or not you play.

Exceptions seem to be made for players who are under contract but never activated during the course of what should have been their rookie season, usually due to a serious injury. Nick Collison and Speedy Claxton are two examples that come to mind.
