stupid! mate you no how many ppl have ruined their careers by coming back early it happend to my mate.
Tue Mar 06, 2007 8:11 pm
yea i was thinking the same thing, he could end up as one of those excellent young players who completley screws their careers. ala Penny + Hill, although its not the same situation.

I think this is a stupid decision. It's not like he's coming back for 1 game, he'll have 20+ games to play. It's not like Miami are even favourites to win it this year either. If Wade doesn't play up to the standard that he displayed in last seasons playoffs then Heat have no hope. Is it worth the risk of losing you "superstar" career just for Shaq & Riley?

It's not his knee, so I'm not sure how he can end his career if he comes back too early, but he seems to be aware of his situation given that he was looking for a second opinion. Give it some time, he might change his mind and not make a comeback this season.

I thing a shoulder injury might be OK to come back from...as cyanide said it's not his kees/ankles/feet.
Still...torn ligaments is never something you want to retear.

I think it's a fine decision, Either way would of worked, he just wants to help his team make the playoffs again.
It probably would of been a better decision to get surgery, but he knows his shoulder best.

I know it's comparing apples to oranges but for the sake of a recent example Amare's attempt at playing last season didn't exactly derail his career and his injuries/surgeries had a lot of people talking doom and gloom about his future career. Obviously a freak re-injury is going to set Wade back further but if it's simply a matter of coming back and still experiencing pain/complications with his shoulder then he can shut it down for the season.

Amare's "comeback" only lasted 3 games and he wasn't expected to save the franchise.
Oh well, i hope we get Heat in the 1st rnd anyway.

I'm well aware of that. My point is that a lot of people thought Amare's attempt to return last season was ill-advised but given his performance this year it hardly seems it derailed his career. As far as the length of his return, as I said if Wade returns and determines he's physically unable of finishing the season or taking part in the Playoffs then he can shut it down for the year. He needn't return to play 20+ games if he's unable to, just as Amare sat out the remainder of the season and the Playoffs after his brief three game return last year.

It's not like Wade is coming back tomorrow is it??? I think he will have a month of rehab before he comes back, so it's not like weight of the world will be on that shoulder...
It will take Wade a couple of weeks to get back. By that time we will know just how dominant Shaq can still be on a regular basis and this is probably the sort of thing the veterans need to get motivated. It's now on them to drive this team to the playoffs and have Wade come back for the playoffs. So the team could be functioning better when its time for the showdown and by the time Wade comes back, he might not have to do it all...
There are already signs that Shaq and Eddie Jones are stepping up. And I think it's a matter of time before the other vets will follow in their footprints... The main motivator is still Shaq and he's got that motivation and inspiration thing down better than anyone else in this league. At least for a player. And Riley is no fool too...
If Miami crashes and burns in the next couple of weeks, Wade shouldn't come back and have that surgery done... But I have a feeling that Miami is going to be a factor in the lowly leastern conference playoffs. Though I doubt anyone in the east can beat Phoenix or Dallas in the finals...

That's correct.
ESPN.com wrote:O'Neal, Williams and Riley have all returned. But Wade, who decided against immediate surgery, most likely will miss several more weeks before he determines if the shoulder he injured last month is strong enough to allow him to play again.

Notice how the Miami lovers that all united after the championship dissapeared and are slowly coming back with Miami playing well as of late? Has Diddy got the news yet?

hey he's back!

Great to see Dwyane back. He struggled tonight though, especially on free throws. Could have won the game if he hit 2/2, but I'm hoping it's only rust. Hopefully the shoulder isn't affecting his shooting stroke.

Shannon,

man, i'm glad that i'm know as a Miami fan!
yeah, i knew Wade's back, but i think he shouldn't play the way he did before the injury! at least he shouldn't do that for a couple of weeks! coz if he will get another injury on his shoulder, man, it would be scared!
Tue Apr 10, 2007 9:00 am
He did OK in the return game, but Heat lost.
Tue Apr 10, 2007 11:20 am
This is a pretty stupid thing for him to do, i just hope hge doesnt mess up his career
Tue Apr 10, 2007 1:00 pm
It's his life and career, let him be.
