There's an on going debate here between Raptor fans and Pacers fans on who's better
This is what Chuck Swirsky wrote in his blog:
After the game the Raps return home to play the Pacers. I think the Raps are a better overall team than Indiana. I received a few e-mails indicating Jermaine O'Neal is a better player than CB4. Nonsense. Utter nonsense. O'Neal is a five time All-Star and is a good player but Bosh is better and is a threat with an outside-inside game
How can the Raptors be a better overall team than Indiana? Raptors don't have anyone that can guard Oneal Or Harrington at the same time on the floor. Raps have no REAL inside threat. If you think Rasho is a real inside threat you need HELP. They both lack in the rebounding department, but Pacers have more Talent. Maybe when both teams get their chemistry down, you can really compare them
Being a Pacers fan, I think Jermaine O'neal is a bigger threat than Bosh. They are both under-rated players, people said both don't deserve to be all-stars, but they are wrong. Jermaine is a better defender, has a better low post game. While Bosh plays off the dribble and can shoot from long range. Jermaine also has range, but Bosh can take his shot out to the 3 point line. Jermaine can shoot threes, but that's not really his game, he's more effective in the low post, while Bosh like to settle for jumpshots like everyone else on the Raps.
I don't want to hear Oh Jermaine Cries about everything, Oh he talks to much and all this shit, he is just competitive. A lot of people think he's garbage now cause he been injured over the last two years, plus dealing with all the other fiascos.
Tomorrow Pacers At Raptors, should be a good game. Pacers will win tho

Also, Jermaine is equally talented with his Left and Right hands, something that I'm sure Bosh is not, because with 99% of players, they may be awesome with both hands, but that dominant hand is usually always better, but with Jermaine they're both outstanding.
Also, bosh is a good shooter, but he's not THAT good of a shooter that it elevates his level of play far past Jermaine's.
He is much less prone to injury though.

Chuck is a homer, an idiot, and a terrible commentator that can't counter-argue any points that people throw at him.
Jermaine O'Neal > Bosh career-wise so far and this is coming from a Raptor fan.
However, Bosh does have more range on his jumper, but that's kind of a meaningless point to make when O'Neal is much better defensively and doesn't struggle against physical defenders that actually challenge both his jumper and hold their own against his post moves. Bosh hasn't really developed into the kind of player that teams are really scared of yet. He's the Raptors' best scorer, but he doesn't demand the attention of the likes of KG or Duncan yet.
Bosh isn't a crappy player by any means though. He's a very talented player and I was actually suprised he has managed to become this good this early, but there's a couple of glaring weaknesses that he still needs to work on.
Overall, they play a similar style, but Bosh has yet to scratch the surface, so comparing them by their careers as of now can't really do anything. Who knows, Bosh might get sustain a career-ending injury tomorrow; anything can happen.

Jermaine's a better defender, Bosh is a better offensive player, both rebound well. I'm not even sure who's the better player. We'll find out on Sunday.
Indy doesn't even need to post here, I mean, we all know what he's going to say

Jermaine is better than Bosh, however,in a few years Bosh is going to own his ass,and a lot more PF asses that seem the best now. except Dwight Howard's. He's just too fucking good to get owned, even by Yao or Shaq...
Anyway, the W goes for the Indiana Pacers,Just because Bosh alone cannot stop both Jermaine and Al Harrington,Even with Garbajosa as C,or Bosh himself as C with Bargnani as PF.
Stephen\Marquis are a bit better than Parker\Joey Graham,TJ and Tinsley are pretty equal I think, yet, don't forget the Pacers has Saras backing him up.and Mo Pete is slightly Better than Danny Granger(arguably).
Man the Israely papers here will be going crazy with this whole 'Saras and Baston against Parker'...

Jermaine O'neal is a much better defender, post player. If he stayed healthy, he would be right up there with Duncan and Garnett.. He could consistently put up 20-22 pts, 9-11 rebounds, 3 block shots..
For some reason, Jermaine doesn't take the best shots, he probally doesn't have as high of a basketball IQ as bosh, thats why it took longer for him to develop as well. (maybe)
Bosh on the other hand is injury-free, he seems to work harder and plays smarter. I'll say he is more natural of a go-to guy than Jermaine, Bosh is not as skilled offensively from the post and defensively. But his potential is up there, Jermaine has already reached his peak.
Right now Jermaine is a better player, he will be a bigger defensive presences and he can get it done in the post maybe a little better ( not by much )

Actually, he has plantar fasciitis, the same kind of injury Tim Duncan has, and he currently has a sore right knee.

Hopefully the Cleveland game is a sign of things to come. If we play like we did in the second half of the Cleveland game against Toronto we'll win by 30.
Watch out for Jamaal Tinsley tomorrow, he's playing like I've been telling people here he's capable of for the last few years. Here are his stats for the last five games:
16 pts 5 reb 6 ast
15 pts 5 reb 7 ast
17 pts 6 reb 9 ast
19 pts 4 reb 7 ast
19 pts 5 reb 6 ast
TJ Ford is probably the worst defensive point guard in the NBA, and when Jamaal is being agressive and playing Mark Jackson like by posting up, he's good against any PG. I wouldn't be surprised to see 20 and 10 from Jamaal tomorrow.
As for Jermaine vs. Bosh, Jermaine is clearly the superior player in every aspect of the game, except for possibly rebounding. People keep pointing to Bosh's outside jumper, but that is Jermaine's specialty. He hits the 15-20 footer as well as any other center in the NBA.
Someone said that Jermaine has a lower b-ball IQ then Bosh. In the past that may have been true, but this season Jermaine has been as smart as I've seen any post player on the Pacers, ever. He's passing very well and shooting a good percentage because he's taking smart shots.
Jermaine is obviously far better defensively.

Oh man, that bias just makes me cringe. Jermaine is not
clearly the superior player in
every aspect of the game. If you look at their numbers on offense, they are similar in a lot of ways. Except for defense. You might say the outside jumper is Jermaine's specialty, but that's also Bosh's specialty. Hell, Bosh can hit the three this year, something that Jermaine is
clearly inferior to Bosh at.

That was just a mistype. Bosh is the better perimiter shooter, and probaby a better rebounder.

i'm not a fan of either, but if we're going on how they are laying i think Bosh is doing better. But i've also haven't watched any Pacers game this year i'm just drawing a conclusion from stats and from wacthing Bosh play.

Statistically Bosh is a better rebounder, but if they switched roles would Jermaine get 12-13 Boards per game like bosh?
Remember that Jermaine has Al Harrington and Danny Granger and Jeff Foster rebounding around him as well.
The next best rebounder on the Raptors aside from Bosh (statistically speaking) is Jorge Garbajosa with 5.5 rebounds per game, and after that its TJ Ford.
Both Foster and Harrington average over 7 boards a game and Granger and Tinsley both average as many as Ford.

No. Jermaine is not a very good rebounder. He never boxes out. The only reason he gets any rebounds at all is because they just bounce in to his hands because he's down there.

I still didn't get an e-mail reply back from Chuck, maybe he got offended lol

Both players played evenly today. Bosh getting 17 pts and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Jermaine scored 15 pts and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Bargnani getting 14 pts, and hopefully he'll get his first 20 point game soon

1 rebound haha

If you watched the game, he boxed out really well against Foster, but he lets the rebound go to the wing players rather than going after it. I'd want to see him more aggressive by going after the ball.

Good game for the Raps, Ipretty much predicted what was going to happen, too bad Pacers couldn't make a full come back. . . Rick please change the Starting Lineup, It ain't working for the Pacers. Who cares what O'neal has to say
Tue Nov 28, 2006 8:55 am
This is alot like the Tim Duncan and KG comparison....
one has people robbing stats from him (TD) and the other is a one man team (KG)
yet KG only has marginally better stats.

I think Swirsky should elaborate on this:
Believe me, the Raps can handle Indiana. They are a better team in my opinion than the Pacers. Chris Bosh played through a sore knee and registered his ninth double-double of the season. The guy just won't sit down. He is a true warrior. No excuses. Just play. As he told me the other day, he has one thing on his mind: playoffs.
If Pacers beat the Raps he wouldn't have said shit, In my opinion!!
