Official 06-07 Utah Jazz Thread

Wed Nov 15, 2006 2:44 pm

The jazz just beat the clippers 112-90 without Kirilenko. The jazz absolutely manhandled the clippers in the 4th, the score doesnt even begin to describe it. Holy **** you should of seen this block Milsap had on Maggete, it was not even funny I feel bad. Clippers are now 1-29 in the DC.

Great win for the Jazz. No Kirilenko and they win by 22 is pretty amazing. This game was most likely a fluke. The Jazz are damn good but the Clippers are better.

If there is not already a Jazz thread going, I reccomend you make this it or else this topic won't last much longer.

*looks at box score to check the illini stats*....i'm liking what i see. ...Deron 16 points and 7 asts, 2 to's in only 11 minutes?..If he keeps this up he's my shoo-in for MIP....Roger played a little bit, didnt do anything but at least he got in. And the man dee brown with less than 2 minutes got 2 points...i'm liking this more and more. GO ILLINI...i mean UTAH!!!!

Good win, at least Denver will have some competition for the Northwest division this year. Its much stronger this year, which is better. I hope the Jazz make the playoffs, i was a big Karl Malone and Stockton fan so i dont mind Utah.

maybe Sloan will get the COY award he deserved for so long.

this thread wont last much longer, but yeah nice win

This game was most likely a fluke. The Jazz are damn good but the Clippers are better.

I dunno if it was a fluke, its not like the Jazz are a bad team.

I agree. The Jazz would've been a good team last year if it weren't for all the injuries. Now that they're used to their chemistry and having healthy guys, with the exception of Kirilenko, they can make some noise.

I predicted them finishing the number 4 or 5 seed in the West during pre season and stick by it.

He played 37 mins, alot of guys steped up and played big so he did not have to score 25 pts and have 15 ast like he did on the road for the jazz to win. It was no fluke the jazz stayed close then in the 4th just picked up the D and the clippers crumbled. Clippers were getting alot of cheap calls throughout the game it was ridiculuos. What is wrong with the NBA and the cheap foul calls nowadays?

Hm the box score on the nba site was wrong then, it said deron only played 11 minutes....I was about to be in absolute awe. Although i'm not a fan of okur really from what i've seen but boozer, deron, harpring and kirilenko when he's healthy are some of the most impressive players i've seen in awhile. and unlike other teams (without kirilenko that is) they have no "superstar" which i think why i like this team even without the illini players. I get bored watching the Pistons/Heat/Mavs matchups because i know who the ball is going to, who is going to step up, who is going to have a 30 point game. The jazz and bulls are my two favorite teams at the moment (with the bobcats being where i'll pull for them, just not sean may) and i'm excited to see the jazz doing so well.

A reminder to all, box scores are never consistent or always correct on the day of the game.

Thu Nov 16, 2006 9:07 am

I expect Utah to beat Denver for the NW Title.

In regard to Kirilenko, I'm sorta surprised he's the 7th highest scorer on the team.

Thu Nov 16, 2006 4:24 pm

Dont forget Paul Milsap the like 47th pick. This guy had 4 steals 5 rebounds and 4 blocks last night. (in 22 mins) He also had 15 points in the game against the Bucks on saturday night. There is a very good chance he was the steal of the draft.

Thu Nov 16, 2006 6:55 pm

2nd coming of ben wallace?

Fri Nov 17, 2006 2:53 am

No he is better on offense.

Fri Nov 17, 2006 2:59 am

and not close on D

Fri Nov 17, 2006 4:27 am

He has only played like 8 games, give him a break. I doubt very few of you have seen him play. (in the nba) Total steal in the draft.

I said they are "damn good". I called it a fluke because the margin of victory makes them seem much better then they really are. Imo, the Clippers are a better team.

Fri Nov 17, 2006 7:20 am

I dont know when healthy I think the jazz are a better team.

Fri Nov 17, 2006 7:32 am

I think the reason why the Jazz are playing so well is because their front-court is the best one that I've seen if healthy. You have a jack of all trades in Kirilenko, and absolute bruiser in the paint with Boozer and a quality shooting touch with Okur. They just compliment each other so well. And Ronnie Brewer is the greatest rookie on the planet.

So, if he has only played like 8 games yet, how come you can call him 'the steal of the draft' and 'the next Ben Wallace' already?

Fri Nov 17, 2006 8:45 am

Not really a fluke because Brand hasn't been playing well to start the season. With a subpar Brand, Clippers are definitely worse than a fully healthy Jazz.

Clips need more than 16 & 6 from Brand...he didn't get many good looks. Good defense or just Clips off to a slow start, i don't know.

Sat Nov 18, 2006 6:37 am

I never said he was the next Ben Wallace. So far he is in the top ten rookie rankings.

And I imagine much of the California area thinks the Clips are a better team when both squads are 100%. You're not saying a ton. :)
