2007 NBA Dunk Contest

Fri Aug 25, 2006 7:04 pm

If you could choose four NBA players for next years dunk contest, with the "rising stars" rules (Player must be in their first 3 years) who would you choose...

In no particular order, Heres My List:

1. James White (would probably win without too much trouble, if he can make his dunks)

2. Andre Igoudala (Last years real winner, can do some crazy shit)

3. Gerald Green (Very young and very athletic, his dunks in games were sick, so i'm expecting nothing less in the contest)

4. Dwight Howard (I may be forgetting players, but to me Dwight Howard is the best big man dunker of all time)

Near misses: Rodney Carney, Tony Allen, Josh Smith

g. green
carney

also: hassan (used to be good in HS), gay, iggy, t. allen

Sat Aug 26, 2006 12:49 am

i dont understand why people think iggy should win. he got 50 for his great dunk. and thats it. the other dunk stinks. nate had a larger difficulty to dunk and he jump over spudd.i know spudd is short, but its always fancinating to see a little man fly. anyway my list is

1. White
2. Robinson
3. Carney
4. Green

You forget that Robinson practically took 20 minutes to finish one dunk. He is practically the worst slam dunk champion ever next to Fred Jones (but I sort of like the guy now that he's a Raptor )

White, Green, Carney and Gay. I hope Nate Robinson trips on a flight of stairs and won't enter.

even though im probably wrong, for some reason i just cant see rudy gay doing anything "amazing" in a dunk contest, i think he would be solid, but not amazing like a james white or a vince carter, i guess i havnt seen enough video

Sat Aug 26, 2006 1:51 am

James White
Nate Robinson (I would rather have Iguodala but shit happens)
Gerald Green
Rudy Gay

Sat Aug 26, 2006 4:51 am

Carney

I agree. After watching the highlights, I thought it was amazing, but after watching the actual game, I thought it was downright pathetic. Iggy should've won if it wasn't for Kenny Smith all over Robinson's balls.

2. James White
3. JR Smith :)
4. Iggy

What the hell was with JR Smith putting the tape on the floor during last year's contest?

Sat Aug 26, 2006 10:02 am

Josh Smith?
I think it was to help with his timing on the jump, but the commentators ripped him a new one for that as soon as i saw it I knew he wasnt going to jump from it though. Watching Nate trying that through the legs dunk god knows how many times was just painful.

Sat Aug 26, 2006 2:07 pm

Yeah, he pretty much suffered because of other people's stupidity.

Sat Aug 26, 2006 3:58 pm

Yeah, after watching the tape of the Josh Smith dunk, it looks like he was putting the tape there because that was his step right before the take-off.
