You think Melo is the price for AI?? Not even close. Camby/Miller would probably get the job done.
I think he'll go somewhere out of the blue.

Iverson to Denver doesn't make sense, two guys that demand the ball on one team isn't a plan for success. I'd say Atlanta is a possible destination, he's been staying there lately and it could be a good situation for him if the whole ownership issue gets solved. I'd like to see Golden State push for him, he could be that winner and motivator the team needs to get back into the playoffs. B Diddy is good but he just can't do what Iverson does on the court and the whole Warrior trip hasn't been real pretty for him so far. The Grizzlies could be another destination, but with them getting Rudy Gay I think West is leaning towards the future more than the present.

yea i heard that he has a new home in atlanta, while his "second home" is in philly

I say Boston, but I don't know what they'll trade him for.

Dude...If you want to get AI to Denver than its gonna be the next New York Knicks. Martin, Melo and AI all want the ball and its gonna be a fucked up chemistry...

Maybe He will be trade later in the season
Sun Jul 16, 2006 4:57 am

George Karl Cant do what Pat Riley did in miami.A.I. is better than what pat riley had in miami.the playersin miami are not as good as Iverson. And it would be very hard to do.Also if he went to boston it would be the same story Paul Pierce and Allen Iverson.

I just can't imagine Iverson in the west. Hell, I can't even imagine him anywhere but Philly.
Mon Jul 17, 2006 6:36 pm
im picking boston, i just dont like the sight of him rotting in philly another year
Tue Jul 18, 2006 8:31 am
Its Philly. I really doubt that the Sixers will trade him for an injury prone Camby and martin. Iverson can play the 1 so we dont need a PG like Miller. i think we should Trade Iggy and Korver, we can get soem nice stuff in exchange for them
Also, if Philly trades iverson, all the Sixers merchandise will be fuxxed up because it says Iverson3 on like most of them. (I have like 10 iverson shirts)

I don't know if they can trade him now. They were close to trade him to Boston the Draft's day, but finally they couldn't agree. Boston needs to boost their young players with a both solid and professional guy like Paul Pierce, he's a good influence. I can't imagine Iverson in Boston, really. And Denver just acquired JR, and they have some players with big deals, I think they can't afford landing Iverson.
Any ideas or thoughts about where is him possible to land ? I'm not asking for rumors, use your imagination and think about a good deal.

AI is staying in Philly. Done. This shouldnt even be a conversation. All the rumors are bullshit. Until he strats getting worse (which he hasnt yet), we should build around AI. This team we have this year could make the playoffs, even though King is reluctant to use the MLE because our team salary is extremely high. We can win 44 games, likely.

Philadelphia. I don't see why the Sixers absolutely must deal Allen Iverson away at this time. I can see the advantages, moving towards another rebuilding stage, getting big contracts off the books, starting fresh etc etc...and I still don't see it as being the right move to make. Not yet, anyway.
Yes, Allen Iverson is getting older. Yes, he turned 31 just over a month ago. And yes, he can't keep up the same pace for the rest of his career. But at the same time, he's only 31 in a league where great players can be effective up until their late 30s. He's coming off a season where he averaged 33 ppg, 7.4 apg and shot the ball at 44.7%, the second highest mark of his career, in 43 mpg. He only missed ten games and a couple of those he sat out after the Sixers missed the Playoffs. If he's in decline and I'm the Sixers' brass, that's decline I can live with. He should have at least two or three more seasons around this level and then perhaps a few more highly effective years after that.
That would give Philly between five and seven more years of AI playing at an ALl-Star level during which time they could continue to build the team around him and try to take a stab at the championship year in and year out. True, they can't really afford to tank many seasons and snare the top talent coming out of the Draft but they still have time to make changes and re-load for a chance to contend again. It's easier said than done but they're hardly in the same position as the Knicks either. They were a late season collapse and Chicago run away from being a Playoff team this past season, after all. It's not too late.
