Im under the impression he saw it on tv. you can link to a tv screen?

Not a big suprise, though it'd be interesting if he signed with a big city, LA or Chi-Town(if it's possible money wise) when he's a free agent. It'd suck for him if he signed with NY at least while IT's still around and Dolan still owns em. Can't wait until the Nets move to Brooklyn..

what a worthless post, only posted to insult and start trouble

anyway it was expected, him leaving for a big market would look bad on him since it would show he is all about the $$

hahah, the same could be said with Yohance Bailey's post, or even yours, stop kissing mod ass.
BTW, i wasnt trying to start trouble, i was letting Yohance know that he saw it on a tv screen, and last time i knew, you couldnt give a link to a tv screen.

Actually if you quoted the full thing you would of noticed i had more than that, but your looking to make me look like the bad guy..

As for kissing mod ass, I've never done that in the 3 years I've been here and never will.

Make a post relating to the thread topic instead of making a fool out of yourself. Your whole "link to a tv screen" was so low.

Sun Jul 09, 2006 7:36 am

Almighty, i suggest you shut the fuck up and let me do my job. You don't start a news thread and have your post be nothing but 5 words. I called this thread weak because his first post was quite shallow and he had nothing to back it up. I don't understand why i'm even wasting my time explaining my actions to you. If you wanna be a stupid n00b...go find some other forum to be it on cause you've been mostly an irritant to me since you got here and you're about to cross the line.

Sun Jul 09, 2006 8:03 am

Gees, i was just making the observation that he saw this "news" on tv (ESPNNEWS which happens to be very reliable), so in other words, there was no link to give. I wasnt even trying to start shit. In my opinion there wasnt even a problem till Amphatoast started to act as if i was starting shit. If anyone is to blame its him, there is nothing wrong with my first post. Yohance i have nothing against you, just so you know.

Sun Jul 09, 2006 10:49 am

You seem to be making a habit of getting yourself into trouble these days huh.

Sun Jul 09, 2006 11:07 am

nope, i just made a statement that he probably saw it on tv, which is why there wasnt a link. everyone blew that out of proportion. Whats so bad with trying to make sense out of something? Image

Wow, talk about making a big deal out of nothing.

Sun Jul 09, 2006 5:47 pm

FUCK! WHY WHY WHY? Lebron with the CAvs for 5 more years FUCK!!! oh well I wanted him to leave for a bigger market. oh well his loss.

Sun Jul 09, 2006 6:27 pm

YEAAHH!!! Now i don't have to be worried about him changing teams for a while.

Sun Jul 09, 2006 8:50 pm

I admire LeBron for showing loyalty to Cleveland and deciding to stick around longer and try to build upon the success of last season. I'm sure everyone within the organisation and Cavs fans worldwide are breathing a sigh of relief.

Sun Jul 09, 2006 8:57 pm

very good for the cavs but i just dont think the cavs are a nba champion team type :|

Sun Jul 09, 2006 9:03 pm

I don't think many would see them as being at that level just yet. But locking up LeBron longterm should allow them to remain one of the better teams in the East and give them a chance at building towards being a legitimate contender.

Mon Jul 10, 2006 12:28 am

Nothing but fantastic news for Cleveland, but nothing but bad for the other 14 Eastern conference teams.

Mon Jul 10, 2006 3:24 am

i'm happy for the city of Cleveland

plus i'm happy now we no longer have to see those articles speculating James going to a big market team. Lebron James is a big market himself so it doesn't matter what franchise he plays for anyway

Very true.. and as much as I hate to say it, considering I am an avid Pistons fan - I'm glad Lebron is sticking around as we will probably witness a growing rivalry between he and Wade.. potential playoff battles between the two sound very promising - especially if they are anything remotely close to the performance they put on in the regular season against each other last year.

Mon Jul 10, 2006 1:59 pm

I don't see the big fuckin' deal. Saw it on TV so I posted it so people could talk about it. I'm not gonna write a paragraph or go find a link when it's on ESPN. :?

Mon Jul 10, 2006 4:16 pm

ESPN - Is LeBron James smarter than his counterparts, Dwyane Wade of the Heat and Carmelo Anthony of the Nuggets?

While Wade and Anthony have both agreed to five year, $80M extensions with their respective teams, it was assumed that LeBron James had done the same with the Cavs. Maybe not says Stephen A. Smith. According to a report on ESPN, sources have told Smith that James will instead accept a four year, $60 million deal from the Cavaliers, and he can opt out of the deal after three seasons.

He could have very good reason to settle for less now.

With the NBA's collective bargaining agreement set to expire at the end of the 2010-11 season, James could be positioning himself for an even bigger payday as a free agent when the cap goes up. Under a new agreement, James and other big stars could be in line for deals in the neighborhood of six years and up to $150 million.

That a superstar would ask to be paid less than that max would be a groundbreaking maneuver.

According to Smith, James discussed the deal he was planning to sign with both Wade and Anthony, and it's unsure if the move by James will affect the agreements made by both Wade and Anthony with the Heat and Nuggets respectively

RealGM

Uh-oh. With 'optiong out' I presume he would become a unrestricted free agent?

Mon Jul 10, 2006 4:46 pm

pretty crazy that Lebron and Ben Wallace have the same contracts...

Fenix wrote:Uh-oh. With 'optiong out' I presume he would become a unrestricted free agent?

He would, but that needn't be a concern just yet. Tim Duncan didn't re-up for the longest available deal the Spurs could give him back in 2000 but he didn't walk when that deal expired. Cleveland will still have a few years yet to continue to improve and convince LeBron to stick around after this extension. I'd say they'll be willing to shell out the money.

As far as the question the article raises, in some ways I guess he's made a smarter move since he's allowed himself an opt-out clause and could be setting himself up for an even bigger payday down the road, but if Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony are happy to commit to Miami and Denver for five years at the current max, so be it. They're hardly getting a pittance.
