Tyson Chandler to the Hornets

Mon Jul 03, 2006 12:14 pm

Tyson Chandler in exchange for PJ Brown and JR Smith. There isn't a link yet, but its expected to happen.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 12:34 pm

Are you kidding me, I hate this trade for the Hornets. I hope it doesn't happen.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 12:38 pm

If thats true, it looks like the Hornets have like 22.8 million (10 million on Chandler per year, around 12.8 per year on Peja) spent on already two players that arent worth that in total.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 12:39 pm

For the Bulls

Good: Two players per one , J.R. Smith have a promising future. PJ Brown its a good player.

Bad: PJ Brown its old , and maybe play just one season more and retire.

For the Hornets

Good: Chandler its a pretty good player , also its young with a promising future .

Bad: Just recives one good player , for 2 good players :?

I think its better for the Bulls

Mon Jul 03, 2006 12:40 pm

yep much better for the bulls. hornets are losing a promising Shooting Guard but in anyways they dont need him cause Peja will make up the Hornets scoring

As a devout hornet fan this trade isnt all that bad, now they have an incredible starting line up. An incredible depth chart at that.
CP3/Speedy
Desmond Mason/Kirk Snyder
Peja/Rasual Butler/Marcus Viniscus
David West/Cedric Simmons
Tyson Chandler/Hilton Armstrong

They are prettty deep, I think overall they've had a great offseason so far with the draft and signings/trades. There cap is going to get a little out of hand but it shouldn't matter if they make the playoffs, it will all be worth it. Peja and Tyson are going to have career seasons offensively with CP3 orchistrating the point.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 1:06 pm

Id' rather develop Cedric Simmons and Hilton Armstrong.

Chandler is just another lazy, skinny, underachieving big man with no offensive game.

I like this deal better for the Bulls. Even though J.R. Smith has been known to be a bit of a whiner, a coach like Scott Skiles can probably set him straight.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 1:13 pm

Is there any link to a rumour or anything? I don't wana believe this just yet, a horrible trade just when NOK were starting to look good.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 1:15 pm

They also got Bobby Jackson too, so I'm not sure what they going to do with SPeedy.

Where's the depth? I only see depth at the 1. The SG rotation is almost the worst in the league. They have 3 good starters, and one good back-up PG.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 1:34 pm

Chicago was looking to trade Chandler anyway. . Toronto should have gotten him

Mon Jul 03, 2006 1:34 pm

wow. the Hornets look loaded. I expect CP3 to lead this team to the playoffs and lose to the spurs in the first round.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 1:48 pm

I was just going to say that their success would depend partly on them resigning speedy but If they got Jackson, wow this team is set if things fall in place for them!

Mon Jul 03, 2006 1:57 pm

Where's the source? And what do the Hornets recieve in the trade besides a fat contract? This confirms that the Bulls are committed in trying to acquire Ben Wallace.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 2:08 pm

oh god... what a good trade for the bulls. guess dont want chandler anymore now that they got thomas.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 2:15 pm

man if the bulls get this deal and are able to sign B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b- Ben Wallace!

I dont think Chicago will let JR wear #23 though, hahaha

Mon Jul 03, 2006 2:21 pm

But who will start?
Gordon or Smith

Mon Jul 03, 2006 2:31 pm

Gordon of course.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 2:36 pm

gordon is a better shooter than smith. smith will be bench

i think scott skiles will decide that.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 3:04 pm

JR Smith will get traded again, there's no need for him and he isn't a Bulls type of a player.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 3:07 pm

if Gordon is around that is.......

Mon Jul 03, 2006 3:17 pm

Pax said Gordon will not be traded.

Mon Jul 03, 2006 3:27 pm

i think J.R smith should be traded for a backup PF or PF

Mon Jul 03, 2006 3:32 pm

Well, if Chandler is traded to NO, you'd have West, Simmons, Chandler, Armstrong and Marc Jackson capable of playing PF/C. How many do you need?
