Nuggets and Kemp?

Tue Jun 06, 2006 1:22 pm

I know there's been alot of rumors about him coming back, but I guess hes going to be in the Nuggest free agent training camp, I did find a better article then that one, but I lost the site...

Well apparently conditioning was his main problem. And now he has shed something like 40 or 60 pounds from his 340 lb body.

He's got the instincts, so i suppose if he's got his physical attiributes back, he could contribute? Though i don't know if he'd still have his legs at 37 anyway.

There were lots of rumours about Dennis Rodman, but nothing ever came from that either. So meh.

I don't know if it was so much conditioning, the whole cocaine addiction wouldn't have helped.

The crack addiction is like a sub-category of his bad conditioning.

Shawn Kemp back on the floor? No, not going to happen. He's going to do the same thing that Charles Barkley tried after he retired and he will fail miserably.

A sub category? I think I'd rather have a fat player than a crack addict.

Interesting argument.

If I were a GM, would I have a crack addict who can average a double-double, or a fat player that's half-decent at best.
crack player - death from OD
fat player - possible death from heart attack

Here you go.

I'd still like to see it happen but serious rumours have been swirling for at least a year now and nothing's come from it. I know he was supposed to be close to signing with Dallas (funny, since that would've given him another chance to score that elusive ring) but in the end it still fell through. As with the other Kemp reports it sounds hopeful, especially if he's shed upwards of 70 pounds.

we all know what happened to Vin Bakers come back.

If Tyrus Thomas turns into this while wearing a Bulls uniform, I'll be very, veeeery happy. Shawn Kemp could easily be one of the greats, if he weren't just plain stupid.

Shawn Kemp was the original man-child PF......then came McDyess in a similar mold, but his knees gave out, and now we have Amare who hopefully will regain his athleticism and continue world domination.

Baker straightened his head out but didn't necessarily got into shape (if I remember correctly) unlike what Kemp has done by losing his excess baggage.

Seems like the Nuggets would be a tough place for a comeback with Camby & K-Mart & Melo there, and Nene if healthy.

Dallas is even worse, Nowtizki is virtually all the PF minutes with the C minutes shared by Dampier & Diop.

If he wanted a comeback, you'd think he'd have better chances with a team like the Sonics or New Jersey.

He wouldnt get much time in Seattle either, Nick Collison and Chris Wilcox have locked up the PF time and if they keep Fortson thats another PF/C, and on top of that they have Mikki Moore, Johan Petro, and Robert Swift who play C
