Good find

Scouting would have to be one of the best jobs involved in basketball. DraftExpress.com have some good interviews up aswell with players like Jameer Nelson about their pre-draft experience, and some stuff with various scouts.

I disagree on it being one of the best jobs. Sure you get to go around the States and possibly the world at times but the pressure on you comes in plenty. Your views matter when it comes to picking what could be the teams next big piece, if it goes wrong alot of the blame goes on you and sometimes that means you get booted.
One of my Uncs use to be a scout for the then San Diego Rockets. He was with the team for 6 years and during that time he saw 16 different guys coming and going and only like 2 stayed with him before he got fired from the scouting staff, they hire and fire you after one season even if you do your job "decently". Sure the media's not going to flat out tell you that but he pressure on a scout is probably as big as the pressure on the players or the head coach, well it can vary from team to team but yeah I wouldnt advice anyone to think of it as a great job after what my uncles told me about it and trust me your not always kindly taken to by the prospects family.

None of that sounds bad to me, if scouts weren't under immense pressure I'd be slightly concerned.

Alrite well if you love pressure I guess its a great job

but theirs no real job security and the money isnt all that great unless your on the top tier.

I think for me just the idea of travelling around and watching basketball would outweigh any negatives... I'd do it for free to be honest, and pressure doesn't phase me much. Guess it depends on your personality.
