FUCK YES!!
i hope this goes through although it'll probably be more than likely that the blazers will go elsewhere.
i think the fanbase here has improved drastically compared to years past.
anyways, i'm really looking forward to this.
the team name in itself would be pretty hilarious and ironic, considering Vancouver, or British Columbia in general is notorious for their marijuana -- and the Jail Blazers have had their share of problems with the happy leaf.
it's a matchmade in heaven.

OOOH SHIT !
I got family there.
Hope this shit happens
Thu Mar 16, 2006 8:50 am
Yeah I heard something about that during commentaries of a game a few days I believe. That would indeed be awesome. Even though I live about 8, 9 hours away from Vancouver, I'd go just to see a NBA game.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 9:21 am
its not going to happen.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 9:29 am
Well ofcourse you are saying it's not going to happen because 1. You are Blazers fan and 2. You live in Portland so you want them to stay in Portland so you can watch the games. Don't be bias.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 9:31 am
well. i must say that would certainly be extremely interesting
Thu Mar 16, 2006 9:45 am
even if i hated the blazers its not going to happen.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 10:37 am
it most likely isn't going to happen but that would be pretty cool, then the raptors would'nt have to be called the worst team in canada
Thu Mar 16, 2006 11:12 am
Vancouver Blazers lmao!!
I'd love to see another franchise in Canada. As long as they have nice jerseys unlike the Vancouver Grizzlies.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 11:24 am
hipn which jerseys did you think were atrocious? i thought the very first ones were just horrible, but towards the end, they were nice.
yuck
gay
i liked these ones:

I hate those ones. And lol, imagine.... Vancouver Blazers, with the weed leaf. Someone should use PS to change the jersey... hmm I think Im gonna give it a try.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 11:32 am
Don't people remember what happened to the Grizzlies?
Thu Mar 16, 2006 11:33 am
don't people remember what happened to the charlotte hornets?
Thu Mar 16, 2006 11:41 am
People of Vancouver like hockey A LOT more than basketball back then, but I think the fan base has improve in the last couple of years. If a franchise does come back to Vancouver, then the team needs jsut ONE star (superstar) to attract fans.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 11:55 am
i wouldnt mind seeing them change
Thu Mar 16, 2006 12:50 pm
don't people remember what happened to the charlotte hornets?
What happened?

Please tell.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 1:10 pm
Guess I was the only one who liked those jerseys...at least more than I like the current trend of plain jerseys that all start to look the same after a while, especially when the colour schemes differ only slightly.
I wonder if Paul Allen ever regrets leaving his former business partner, with all these financial losses.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 1:19 pm
If there will be an NBA team in Vancouver, then A LOT pot smoking players (yes, even Birdman) will want to come there.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 1:58 pm
paul allen is the 6th richest man in the world
he should invest some money and get better partners to help work and he will get it back.

i'm guessing that is sarcasm.
but i posed that question in response to bang's comment to illustrate that city's generally get a second chance.
new orleans jazz -> utah jazz -> new orleans hornets
charlotte hornets -> new orleans hornets -> charlotte bobcats
Thu Mar 16, 2006 2:41 pm
This is a shame for Portland

At least they'll hopefully still have Zach Randolph
I wouldn't mind bandwagoning a Canadian team
Thu Mar 16, 2006 2:58 pm
I wonder why Pittsburgh doesn't have a team. Jacksonville too.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 3:07 pm
i mean. pittsburgh is a steel town.. i wouldnt imagine the enviornment very good there...
jacksonville... i dunno
but both cities have had pretty successful aba teams.
Thu Mar 16, 2006 3:19 pm
It would be cool if someone made a patch of this for nba live 06. Concept team jerseys and logos
Thu Mar 16, 2006 3:20 pm
Vancouver would be the last place I'd put an NBA team... why are they going back over old ground, it's irritating. I mean there was a reason the Grizzlies left Vancouver to begin with. Like Axel said, there's other markets for them to use. They'd have to make more sense then Vancouver.
