me, bowen he locks down opponents star every night...
after what he did to dirk the last tym... he should bag that award...
Sat Mar 11, 2006 1:38 pm
Where is Tim Duncan? I would go TD.
Sat Mar 11, 2006 1:41 pm
come on carmo, your an asshole
Sat Mar 11, 2006 1:42 pm
No mention of Marion?
Sat Mar 11, 2006 1:46 pm
marion is a great defender but do you think he is a greater defender than bowen...
ak on the other hand blocks 8 i think 3 to 4 times now, and as of late he contibues to swat shots...
Sat Mar 11, 2006 1:48 pm
come on carmo, your an asshole
lol, in all seriousness though I think Marion should get it. However, I reckon Gerald Wallace would've been a certainty if he didn't get injured.
Sat Mar 11, 2006 1:52 pm
Gereld Wallace or Andrei Kirilenko either or.
Sat Mar 11, 2006 1:54 pm
Gerald Wallace, no dispute. First player in a billion years* to average 2spg/2bpg... though I think he's dropped in spg.
*Slight exaggeration.

Matrix doesn't deserve it, he plays for the Suns who give up like 100 ppg
Sat Mar 11, 2006 1:59 pm
G Dub no doubt about it. Although I dont know if he qualifies becoz hes missed a fair few games.
Sat Mar 11, 2006 2:04 pm
Bruce Bowen. He definitely deserves it.
Sat Mar 11, 2006 2:20 pm
anyone seen Bruce Bowen holding onto Kobe tonight all the time, he does it in a way that refs cant see.....but
Ben Wallace!!!!! just the 5th player in NBA history to log 6 consecutive season of 100+ steals and 100+ blocks.
Sun Mar 12, 2006 12:14 am
Bowens a good defender, but not on a consistent basis. He gets roasted by guys like Melo and Carter sometimes.
I have to agree that Gerald Wallace is a sleeper candidate. He's got a ton of hustle and the stats speak for themselves.
I hope Kirilenko wins it though... He'll be the guy I'm rooting for.
Sun Mar 12, 2006 12:34 am
aldrin, seriously... if its not a homer duncan post its a homer spurs post in general...
heres a homer post to have a good tug over
BEN WALLACE FOR DPOTY
Sun Mar 12, 2006 12:40 am
team records will play a part....that's why G Wall stands no chance
Sun Mar 12, 2006 12:50 am
Despite being a Spurs fan, I kinda dislike Bowen. I mean he's good for the team and he definitely has his niche but his style is dirty plus he mostly just leads his opponent to the great defensive frontcourt that the Spurs have.
I'm an AK47 fan though so I'm a little biased.

So? They would give up a lot less if they didn't score so quickly.
Sun Mar 12, 2006 5:33 am
I'm going to go with Bruce Bowen,
but Ben Wallace isn't far behind.
Sun Mar 12, 2006 2:28 pm
Since stats usually sway the voters, I'd go with Ben Wallace over Bruce Bowen.
Sun Mar 12, 2006 4:59 pm
AK47 if he stays healthy thru the rest of the season..
Bowen is up there, but i think ben wallace might get this b/c hes on the league's best team this season..

That's a matter of opinion.
Sun Mar 12, 2006 5:04 pm
what about the league leading shot blocker marcus camby?
Sun Mar 12, 2006 6:17 pm
missed too many games.....probably down to Bowen & Benji since neither has had time off.
Sun Mar 12, 2006 8:39 pm
Hmm Bowen limites superstar players and Wallace is nothing but a defensive monster. As stats may matter I'd go with Wallace but Bowen will be for sure in All NBA Defensive team.
