Lets say you break a record during the playoffs, does it still count as breaking a record? Lets say Kobe had 13 three's in a playoff game , would that count as the new 3pt record? Or lets say a players career high is 30 , and he has 40 in a playoff game , is that his new career high? Thanks in advance.

They keep separate records for playoff vs regular season.

As far as the record is concerned, they're seperate. But for personal player career highs, I think they refer to both. Even if NBA.com doesn't list playoff highs over regular season highs, technically speaking the player's personal best is their personal best no matter when they achieved it. For example, before Michael Jordan scored 69 against Cleveland during the 1990 regular season, his previous career high was 63 against the Celtics in the 1986 playoffs. Conversely, when you look at NBA records as a whole that 63 is a playoff record, while Wilt's 100 is the regular season record.
