Sixers Raptors Game Recap

Written by nbalive744 because of boredom:

The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Toronto Raptors 107-80 a Few Nights Ago. It was a big win for the Sixers, and let me sum it up for you Quarter-by-Quarter.

First Quarter

The beggining of the First Quarter was a very sloppy one for both teams, including turnovers and missed shots, both teams went scoreless for the first 2 minutes, until Morris Peterson got an easy lay-up off of Allen Iversons bad pass to Samuel Dalembert deep in the shot clock. The Sixers answered back with a few nice looks involving Chris Webber and Kyle Korver, which sparked the Sixers for a minor part of this quarter. The Raptors played fairly well for the first 6 minutes, building a 7 point momentum.

In the second half of this quarter, the Sixers were energized to make a comeback being down 14-7. So they did, it all started when Joey Grahm Turned over the ball due to Strong Inside Defensive presence by Andre Iguodala, which sparked a fast break and gave Kyle Korver another easy layup. Next thing you know, Iguodala plays some more tight defense, which causes some more fast break easy baskets, at the end of the First Quarter, the 76ers were up 27-21.

Second Quarter

The start of this quarter was basically a see-saw. In one of the begginning Raptors possessions, the Sixers gave the Raptors about 4 chances to score, once again showing the Sixers Offensive Rebounding Problems. On the bright side for the Sixers, they had it going from behind the Arc in this Quarter, including 3's from Kyle Korver and Allen Iverson, Webber got some good shots in this quarter, so basically, to sum up this quarter, it was basically a see-saw for both teams, the Sixers had the slight advantage on the see-saw, with Andre Iguodala having a good quarter, including a crazy 2 hand reverse layup over Chris Bosh and Charlie Villanueva. Kyle Korver also finished the Quarter with 17 points, and at the Half, the Sixers were leading 52-48.

Third Quarter

WOW. What a quarter for the 76ers, probably the most fun I have ever had watching a Sixers Game. Now where should I start? Hmm, Well in the begginning of this Quarter, the Raptors were playing terrible Offensively, and if that wasn't enough, the Sixers were amazing Defensively. Which sparked a 9-0 Sixers run, and the Sixers never looked back this game. In this Quarter, you could call it a Slam Dunk Contest, because Andre Iguodala had 5 monster Slams in this Quarter alone, if you haven't had a chance to catch the Slams, here is a Download of them:

When Iguodala did that windmill, I was so pumped I wanted to tear the whole house down, thats how much I love his dunks.

Anyways, the rest of the Third Quarter, the Sixers were scorching the Raptors, I would not know what I would do if the Raptors picked Iguodala instead of Arujo. Summing up this quarter, the Sixers were scorching the Raptors this whole quarter, and it was the est quarter and most enjoyable one I have ever seen, the Sixers finished this quarter ahead 80-62, and Samuel Dalembert finished with 16 rebounds, 3 away from his Career-High

Fourth Quarter

The Fourth Quarter was a pretty boring quarter, very similar to the second, onyl a little more exciting. Kyle Korver started the quarter by quickly nailing a 3-Pointer. But the Raptors were there to answer back. The Sixers continued their Dunk-Contest throughout the Fourth Quarter, where Dalembert had about 3 slams, and a very surprising dunk came from Sixers Rookie Shavlik Randolph had a monster Rock-The-Cradle Reverse Slam, it had Iverson jump off the bench with a priceless look on his face. The funny thing was that in this game, Allen Iverson and Chris Webber only combined for 30 Points, it was Andre Iguodala, and Kyle Korver taking care of the scoring, Korver had 23, and Andre Iguodala had 26, tying his previous Career-High set in Toronto 5 weeks ago. Samuel Dalembert and Shavlik Randolph took care of the Rebounding Purposes, Sammy had 18 rebounds, 1 rebound away from his Career-High, and Randolph played with good hustle on the Boards just like usual.

All in all, I loved watching this game, and I would love watching more Sixers games similar to this game.

Nice recap. Even though 27 point blowouts are nice now and then, I prefer those 131-130 point shootouts where AI has 50+ points and wins it in the final seconds.
