Toronto Star - Chris Bosh yesterday again deflected any contract talk, saying he wants to see how things go this season before he figures out if Toronto is the place for him in the long term.
"If we play well and win, things will be taken care of," he said.
And what if the team only wins 10 games all season?
"It can't happen," Bosh replied with a steely stare. "It's not going to happen. That's impossible in my mind."
Bosh is signed with the Raptors through the 2006-2007 season.

Ye I read this earlier today. Its been three years and all those years have been bad records for his team. He is playing his heart out all night.
I aint worried though. I know he'll stick with the Raptors. All he needs are good teammates and etc.

He won't go to LA, he's going to stay in Toronto for the money.
Thu Dec 01, 2005 7:56 am
1-14 ?!?!?!?!?
I know I , for one, would not stay.

Wouldn't he be better of in LA, which is a big market where he would get more opportunities for ads and stuff?

i don't blame him.. if a franchise ain't improving or showing any signs why bother stay with them..
Thu Dec 01, 2005 8:21 am
yes, and Babcock isn't doing anything thing to change the team. He better do some trade soon orelse
Thu Dec 01, 2005 8:24 am
Somehow trade Hafa or make him work out a lot so he can get in shape and so he is stronger in the paint. Bring back Sow and let him play more. Trade Grahm, Woods, Aaron Williams and Eric Williams.

Trade Grahm, Woods, Aaron Williams and Eric Williams.
... for a dollar.

Hmmm... I predict a rise in the NBDL level of basketball as of next year...

why Joey Graham? I think if he gets some more touches, he can be a good player. Right now, Rose and Peterson are taking all the shots and minutes at that position. But yes, woods, and williamssssss need to be traded. All they are good for is for spot fillers during practices.
Thu Dec 01, 2005 9:40 am
Ye man, stop hating on J.GRAHAM. Who we need to get rid of are those suckas we call centers, Woods and Williams. I can see Mo Pete being traded this season too. Wouldn't like it but if you want this team to survive out there, there are risk to take.

Will Bosh seek max?
Will he get it?
Thu Dec 01, 2005 10:13 am
I think bosh is happy with what he's getting.

Sure.

I dont think the Raptors are willing to pay major $ to any player anymore.

You're dillusional, then, and your fandom is blinding you if you think he isn't going to try and get the max. The real question is whether or not Toronto will pony it up.
Thu Dec 01, 2005 11:32 am
They're going to have a TON of cap room the year he becomes a FA....
Thu Dec 01, 2005 11:47 am
D-Weaver's back? Wtf?
Bosh'll stay, I don't know why though.
Thu Dec 01, 2005 11:58 am
He's restricted and we'll sign him whether he likes it or not. If he starts sulking then we'll trade him for another 2 Williamses and 2 first round draft picks.
Thu Dec 01, 2005 1:11 pm
Dweaver's one liners are worse than ever... the Lakers should have the cash if he's available, but who knows. He'll probably end up somewhere like Charlotte.
Thu Dec 01, 2005 1:24 pm
It might not exactly be a vote of confidence, but he's not demanding trades and screaming to get out either, so it might not be cause for concern yet.

For him to go to LA he would have to take a qualifying offer from the Raptors after his rookie contract is up. So he can then leave to any team he wants after that contract is up. Why would he play on a one year deal with no security? He could get hurt and lose millions and millions of dollars.
Not to mention the Raptors can offer about $30 million more than Bosh. Plus, by the time Bosh is a free agent the Raptors should be better (if the rebuilding works). I have a feeling Bosh will be in Toronto for awhile.

Isn't there something called tax? Or what about the fact that he's probably paid in Canadian dollars or something? (I would've expected Riot to say this...for some reason.)
