Suns sign Amare to a 5 year contract extension

Tue Oct 04, 2005 11:09 pm

The Suns said all along that signing Amaré Stoudemire to a contract extension was their top priority of the offseason. Mission accomplished.

Well bad luck to the other teams who wanted to sign him after his rookie contract... Amare is gonna be a BEAST.. a BEAST

That's funny. I was just thinking about how I could see Amare in a different team's uniform this morning, and then I read this. Definitely good news for the Suns. Like Jugs said, this guy is gonna be HUGE.

Bad news for the lakers. No yao and amare on 2006. :D

Good work by Suns management. They'd have a big problem if they couldn't get him to stay

Wed Oct 05, 2005 1:36 am

He is definently "not" overpaid

Wed Oct 05, 2005 2:05 am

hes underpaid if JJ got 70mill lol but yeah he earned his max contract.

Wed Oct 05, 2005 3:06 am

This is a guy that could be underpayed soo enough.

How I had wet dreams of him playing for LA. :(

Wow, this sure is suprising....

Anyway, you know you're pretty good when Shaq says you're the next big thing in the future.

Shaq was just comparing dick sizes.

Hehe, he didn't even say he was the next big thing, he said Amare WAS the future.

Imagine LeBron & Amare on one team down the road. Aah the magic they'd work.

Or tantrums they'd throw...

 just thinking about Amare and LeBron on the Si...on the same team...

Whopee!

Trade Nash for Bron. That would be fine with me. Maybe throw in Raja Bell.

I wasn't very impressed about Stoudemire's game until I saw him blossom in last year's playoffs.

I thought of him as another leaping forward beneficting hugely from having a point man that matched his game. I wasn't convinced that he could be a go-to guy for a Ball team.

But you know you have a good investment in hands when you have someone dropping 40 on the spurs and he isn't called Shaq. He reminds me of Shawn Kemp (95-96 version), but I think he's even more explosive.
Let's hope nothing will ever happend to those knees... Maybe Phoenix could call Karl Malone and ask him to give Stoudemire some fitness hints.

Finally, some good news for Phoenix after the Joe Johnson fiasco. All the more reason for Phoenix to lock him up long-term, since his market value would clearly be way higher than JJ's.

Good job Phoenix...Amare will paly even better than last year!

Going off the deep end on that one eh?

Who are the Lakers holding out for now? I love it. No Amare, no Yao. Thank god. Good work Phoenix.

"Phoenix forward Amare Stoudemire spent the summer working on his game, to the point that he erased one of its most glaring weaknesses: Opponents can't easily neutralize him anymore by forcing him to his left. Said Stoudemire: "I'm ready to go. I'm really trying to win a championship this year. That's what I'm striving for. There are a lot of new guys and there have been some huge changes, but I think it's all for the best to help this team become a champion."

This was on Fox Sports online.

This guy will become something special...

Obvious move by Phoenix.
