Vancouver bids for New Orleans team

Sat Sep 10, 2005 7:19 am

I just read it on the local Vancouver newspaper. Vancouver has a chance of getting a nba team!!! :D :D :D

Sat Sep 10, 2005 7:22 am

Yeah, that'd be great!! Especially since it worked out so great last time!

Sat Sep 10, 2005 7:23 am

If you were David Stern and you had to decide whether so send this team to Vegas or Vancouver, which would you choose? No, really?

Sat Sep 10, 2005 7:24 am

actually the owner of the new orlean hornets gets to choose where they go i think. Most likely the will play in louisana stadium. Vancouver has a slim chance of a team, but it still a chance!

I would dance and dance and dance if that happened. I posted that as a joke earlier (might have been here) and didn't think it could actually happen.

I think Vancouver would be a good city for them. Just because the Grizzlies moved doesn't mean that Vancouver's not a basketball city. I'm sure the Hornets would have no problem getting fans out to their games, and one advantage is that there's already a facilty there for them.

we all know y the vancouver grizzlies didnt last in vancouver

its all because of stupid management led by who? STU JACKSON

super dumbass. no risks taken watsoever.

he took the safe players from the draft. no prospect/potential players watsoever

country, reef, bibby, daniels, switf
o yea. how about drafting 3 PGs three straight years.

how can u pass up on vince, odom

bullshit
management was the team's demise not the city

i think vegas is a good city. an alternative/additional attraction from gambling.. but the question will be, are people going to see basketball games or just gamble..

LAS VEGAS GAMBLERS would be a good name.. :D

Sat Sep 10, 2005 1:50 pm

I think moving a team to Vegas is a shitty idea. (N)

Sat Sep 10, 2005 1:53 pm

Id say no matter where they move they'll still be the Hornets

#12,
will play in louisana stadium. Vancouver has a slim chance of a team, but it still a chance!

So that the Hornets will have a decent fans..I mean playing in their old stadium is like having a ghost fans..Away teams was not "away" literally looks like playing an exhibition game. it takes Katrina to inform them though.. 8-)

LMAO, check this:

that's cool but i doubt they'll end up here in vancouver.. they'll probably end up in somewhere gay like oklahomo. if they end up in vancouver though i'll be the first one to cop tickets to see LBJ :D

I think it would be a crime for them to play outside of LA. The same goes for the New Orleans Saints. The people down there deserve to have the chance to see their hometown team play and if they move to some other city it won't feel like it's their team.

I hope the Saints and the Hornets play in Baton Rouge this year. I think if the NBA and NFL move those two teams out of state they would be making a big mistake.

If the Hornets play outside of Louisiana this year, from what I've read it would only be a temporary arrangement.
