James Jones to Phoenix in S&T

It's nice to see he'll be in a good situation. I will definitley miss him, he was a great asset to the team, but he really wouldn't have seen many minutes this year. He would have been behind Artest, Granger, Fred Jones and SJax. I'm glad to see him go somewhere where he will get minutes.

Now, this said, the Pacers are pushing hard to get the trade exception. This means something will be in the work, possibly a deal for Magloire and PJ Brown, or just one of the two. I'm not sure, but we're getting cash, and clearing out a roster spot? Larry Legend has something up his sleeve, it will be interesting to see what it is.

Both sound like good aquisitions for a team like Indiana, depending on who's going the other way of course.

Indy, how did you get to the idea of getting Magloire and PJ Brown? I mean, i think it would be great if Pacers could get at least one of them, but i don't recall hearing any rumors involving Indiana and New Orleans :?:
Oh btw, good thing for James Jones (Y) He wouldn't get a chance to play in Indiana so, good trade.

yeah live 2005 had him rated at 39 or something. really low. i probably would have given him a 51 or something. he became a important part of the team after the brawl

I don't think the Pacers will use the trade exception. I guess what they're trying to do is getting below the luxury tax threshold, thus they are letting solid players like Dale Davis and James Jones go. Getting a 2nd round Draft Pick in return for the latter is better than nothing at all.

It's a good trade for the Suns btw, I wish my Mavs had gotten their hands on Jones since they could use another shooter. Getting him for a 2nd rd pick is a steal!

There have been Magloire to Indy rumors all summer.

PJ Brown is just obviously on the market, and is expected to be included in any Magloire deal if one does go down.

I like this. The back-up guard/swingman position was soooo weak.

It is definitley a good move for PHX.

I would be pretty upset if the Pacers didn't make another move this offseason. I'm sure the brass has something up their sleeve, because they said they would match any offer for him. Maybe he said he wanted to go... I don't know, but I think a Magloire trade is looking more and more probable.

I don't know if you go to many games Colin, but JJ is a great, great guy. I guarentee you would get a chance to meet him, and he will have a conversation with anyone. After games he often pulls into the parking lot in his escalade to sign autographs and talk to anyone who wants. He stays there untill every single person gets an autograph. I really will miss him as a guy... :?
