Sat Aug 13, 2005 8:35 am

I dont know how to spell his name but The Dream will coach the Lakers big men. I heard it off the radio. How much will he help them?

Sat Aug 13, 2005 8:49 am

Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon??
If that is true, how the hell do you call yourself a basketball fan if you can't even attempt to spell one of the greatest centers ever's name? :?

Sat Aug 13, 2005 8:53 am

Yes its him. And I'm tired I dont feel like it.

Awesome, if Kwame & Bynum can't learn something from Hakeem, then they should seriously be put in the category of worst picks in the history of Basketball.

Bynum is still passable as a bad pick, Kwame will be touted as the worst number 1 pick, ever. :|

Anyways, I hope Hakeem can teach them some of his moves & that they are willing and eager to learn. Not by calling them a flaming faggot though, kids these days are kinda sensitive.

I think will be hard to teach Mihm, Bynum, Kwame and those big shit big men ( except for my Ronny :D ). Hakeem, don't waste your time. 8-)

...........Wait, so you're saying they're shit, and therefor they shouldn't be coached? And how will it be hard to teach them? None of them except for Brown has been known for having attitude problems, and Brown's still only 22, so he can still learn a lot, and that also means correcting his attitude (although they probably just fluff up the stories to make him look more like an ass).

Totally agree, if you can't learn anything from Hakeem, you're uncoachable.

was the info on this????

Sat Aug 13, 2005 2:12 pm

I don't know if this is true..Image

Hey Patrick Ewing, assistant coach teach Kwame Brown when Kwame was still with the Wizards. Did Kwame learn? No, it was just a waste of time. How can he not listen to the great centers in the history of the game.

Sat Aug 13, 2005 5:49 pm

Hakeem the Dream baby! My fav center of all time.. imagine Bynum with the dream shake

It's unfair to say, 'a great guy is coaching a player' and you should expect results. Sometimes it just doesn't work. Sure, if the guy has a lot of experience, doesn't mean he can pass that onto the person he's training. But yes, it does help and could be good for the lakers big men to have that kind of an influence coaching them.

lol you idiot.

They better not let Hakeem play Kwame one on one. Remember what Mike did to him, and MJ is only 6'6! Hakeem will demolish this kid even at his age.

Sat Aug 13, 2005 7:05 pm

YEs it does help... but what kind of results do you expect?

Sat Aug 13, 2005 7:35 pm

Maybe it's just me, but I can't picture Hakeem yelling "You fucking faggot" at Kwame everytime he stuffs up

By saying it helps is expecting results, which is a contradiction to what you said earlier in your post.

Jae, MJ called him a flamming faggot after Kwame started talking shit to him first in a game of one on one. Hakeem was nearly as notorious of a trash talker as Jordan was, so expect hakeem to get on kwame early. Lets see how much he has matured.

For his part, Brown had become maddeningly frustrated, a kid who thought that he was being repeatedly fouled in intrasquad games. He would drive toward the basket and feel himself being bumped by a hard hip off the ball, infuriated that the referees wouldn't blow a whistle. "That was a foul," he finally groaned.

There was an electric silence then. Play had stopped. A wide-eyed Jordan walked toward Brown. "You [expletive] flaming faggot," he exploded. "You don't get a foul call on a [expletive] little touch foul, you [expletive]. Get your [expletive] back on the floor and play. I don't want to hear that out of you again. Get your ass back and play, you [expletive]."

That's not really talking shit, although he must be pretty fragile to cry about it.

Either ways, we've already seen what impact verbal abuse has on Kwame... if Hakeem went in and started to do the same thing it would be idiotic.

Sat Aug 13, 2005 9:35 pm

I did not contradict myself. I was responding to posts that implied that Kwame/Bynum would be learning to be as skilled as Hakeem/Ewing.

Sat Aug 13, 2005 9:36 pm

Kwame has to get used to it though. If he does find himself in big games against Garnett, Ben Wallace, Shaq, Amare, Jermaine O'neal etc, and they start talking shit to him.

Alot worse is said in local comps here in sydney than what MJ said to Kwame. Hell, I've heard high school coaches be more abusive than that.

I don't think the problem was that someone was trash talking him, I think it was moreso that it was Michael Jordan who he saw as a bit of a hero. Also the fact that he's a teammate, I mean if my teammates said that to me I'd actually think about it in comparison to some guy I'm playing against.

Maybe they should get Manute Bol in to teach him some trash talk... "You motherfuck! Fuck you you motherfuck!'

Great debate on both sides, but I think that one was the clincher, unless Matthew has something else up his sleeve ;)

Is it Hakeem coaching the Lakers, or Kareem?? I read somewhere about Abdul-Jabbar was the one who got in conversations with the Lakers :?

Sun Aug 14, 2005 3:22 am

Yeah I read the same... I'm getting the impression that Kobe101 might've mis-heard this, or got them confused.
