We talked about him quite a bit in the other thread about him joining the spurs.

the spurs are only signing players born out the States. I guess they're trying to prove something to us ....

Wed Aug 03, 2005 11:52 am

^ They already did  And they succeeded admirably.

I love Oberto. He is great man, the Spurs did a great job on getting him...I hope we can improve for next season. (Y)

You know ur Spurs are gonna improve. You guys only loss Devin Brown, Glenn Robinson and a few bench warmers.

You guys might also sign Luis Scola if possible. Spurs already have his draft rights.

His last name is Oberto?

Let the Beef Jerky jokes ensue.

The spurs signed a male model?

Wed Aug 03, 2005 7:00 pm

He looks like a male model to you?

Look at the picture in the first post, he has almost the same haircut as me. Good to see that I'm not the only freak out there . In fact, he also wears my number (7) and has the same shirt I'm wearing right now. Perhaps that IS me?

Hey I saw this guy at the last olympics. He is pump up on that game against the US. He show no fear on both ends.

Good signing for the Spurs. Makes them a much deeper team with this.

On the topic of international players... whens that Fredrick Weis joining NBA?

Wed Aug 03, 2005 10:10 pm

Oberto is Nesterovic with balls

I like this signing, much like I like every Spurs' signing....on the road to another title....ho hum

When VC posterized him, his NBA career was shot.

Actually, wasn't he a benchwarmer for NYK a while back?

Edit: After Jae's post about Weis saying, "he needs to wash more. His testicles smelled really bad," () I now think he has a legitimate shot at the NBA again. Partially because I hate Vince Carter.

He did make one of the most memorable posters though.
Don't know if all Shawn Bradley's posters combined can match that one.

At the Ozhoops.com forums a while back, there was an Aussie guy who was a translator for the French Olympic team at the 2000 games. He made a post about how he asked Fred Weis after the game what he thought of the dunk.

Weis said some stuff, then a the end of it added "he needs to wash more. His testicles smelled really bad"

Man Weis is a disgrace to our country. I mean he could've at least dodged it or jumped,I dunno but just not get dunked on like that!

Anyway,I heard he quit his basketball career shortly after that because he was traumatized (sp?) and according to some sources he now spends his life with monks in Peru or something of that nature. I'm not even kidding.

Under the new CBA, an NBA team can only offer 500K for a buyout. Which means Scola would have to fork out the rest 13.5 MILLION DOLLARS of his buyout clause...
