Jason Williams

Damon Stoudemire is reportedly headed to Memphis. Where does this leave JWill?

Where do you guys think he may end up? For whom could he be traded for?

we r talkin about same kind of stuff in this thread

No, in that thread, talk is focused on the lakers, and other point guards. I'm wondering where people think Jason Williams is headed. This is a Jason Williams thread.

Boston for Blount has been reported. Add in Banks for a Williams/Wright trade. That would make me a happy camper.

Sun Jul 31, 2005 5:34 am

Now, why would anyone besides AND1 team want this guy to be on their team?

Sun Jul 31, 2005 6:03 am

He would be a nice fit in Miami, I wouldn't mind having him.
The thing is who do we give MEM in order to complete the trade. :|

I love it! This puts Memphis in a great position because now we can basically trade Jwill for anything without seriously helping the team or add him a deal to really help the team because we got Stoudamire, Jackson and Burks all under contract so I wouldn't mind if we just released him.

Sun Jul 31, 2005 11:19 am

Jwill for Blount is terrible, although they need size who would compare J-Will to Blount in actuall skill ?

While Jason Williams will never be mistaken for John Stockton, I think he's buried too often for his AND1 antics. He's not quite the same player he was for the Kings, he's still a little too undisciplined but he's averaging fewer turnovers and a decent number of assists. His production is down as is his court time, this past season definitely wasn't his finest but he remains a legitimate NBA point guard.

That said, he seems to have worn out his welcome in Memphis so it's probably for the best for him to be moving on (though I thought they'd be keeping Earl Watson). The Clippers and Hawks are two teams that could use a veteran point guard, though I must admit I can't devise any mutually appealing trade scenarios.

Successful Scenario

Every team gets something good in return. The Hornets get a legit scorer in Harrington and a center to replace Magloire. Grizzlies get the big man they've been looking for. The Hawks get the PG that they are in desperate need of.

Sun Jul 31, 2005 2:16 pm

I'll have to agree that every team is going to get something good in return.

Will Harrington play SF or PF in New Orleans?

Sun Jul 31, 2005 6:03 pm

haha if that goes through all of a sudden the hawks look like someone!

PG- J. Williams
SG- Joe Johnson
SF- Josh Smith
PF- TBA
C- TBA

hmm missing front court.. marvin williams can play pf i guess

Mon Aug 01, 2005 7:23 am

scratch the hawks thought
from hoopshype..
"If everything goes according to the Grizzlies' summer plan, Jason Williams no longer will be their main man. The point guard is close to being traded in a three-team deal that would include Miami, according to an NBA source familiar with the Grizzlies' dealings. It is not known where Williams would land in the proposed deal."

Shaq
Haslem
-Jones??
Wade
Williams

i dont feel like registering but jones might be involved(salary) i think.. not sure tho

Mon Aug 01, 2005 8:12 am

J-Will to Boston, which will allow Payton to go to the Lakers and in the meantime Walker goes to the Heat. Perfect.

Mon Aug 01, 2005 8:15 am

Wow, that right there is a lineup I'd LOVE to see in action.
Rasual or maybe even Shandon Anderson can play SF if Eddie is traded.

Mon Aug 01, 2005 12:19 pm

i really like SbHzMaFiA©'s scenario, being a New Orleans fan, it looks perfect. And to answer someones question: Al Harrington would play SF in New Orleans, with PJ Brown starting at PF and Wright at C

C: L Wright
PF: PJ Brown
SF: Al Harrington
SG: JR Smith
PG: Chris Paul

Memphis looks good if Stoudamire signs up too:

J Magliore
P Gasol
J Posey
M Miller
D Stoudamire
w/ guys like Battier , Bobby Jackson on the bench!

Mon Aug 01, 2005 12:34 pm

i like Battier as a starter than Posey. Posey is nice, but battier has the leadership, defense and offense.

Yea Battier is going to end up being the starter if the deal happens. I think Posey kinda lost his starting spot when Fratello stepped in.

Mon Aug 01, 2005 8:04 pm

Battier is both offensively and defensively whereas Posey can do offence and little defence. Battier should start.

Tue Aug 02, 2005 1:51 am

Posey can play defense.

Tue Aug 02, 2005 3:45 am

Yea Posey is actually one of the best defenders on the team if not the best  It's Battier's hustle that helps put him at the starting role. Posey hustles alot too, but he tends to make little mistakes on the court like he may miss a layup every once in awhile when he has to manuever through traffic.

Those are some nice line-ups, especially for Memphis.

If New Orlean's young back-court can play up to their potential they might be a pretty decent team.

The thing I don't like about Atlanta is that last year there was so much hype about Josh Childress and Josh Smith taking that team somewhere, and now they get replaced by Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams.

Johnson is young and wants to be the star so who knows how much minutes Childress will get coming off the bench.

But then again, Atlanta can have so many different starting line-ups that they might get everyone to start, here's an example:

C - Jason Collier (?)
PF - Marvin Williams
SF - Josh Smith
SG - Josh Childress
PG - Joe Johnson

They also have a lot of young talent on the bench with that line-up, it might not be as bad as I made it seem...
